I arrived and Lyra fell out with questions about May, but I turned away and didn't answer. Lyra wouldn't let me keep her away, so I had to resort to things I would have preferred not to do. With a heavy heart I started an argument. We yelled at each other. It was terrible to talk to her like that.
“Peter what's wrong with you? What happened? Before you left everything was good.”
“Nothing is good. I can't and don't want to do that anymore, including that with us!”
I could see that she didn't understand what was happening. How could she, you couldn't understand anything because there was nothing to understand.
"I don't want to argue any further, I think you should just go!"
With these words I pushed past her, I didn't want to watch her leave.

How could he do that, how could he say that? What happened? He just left me here and I should go. I didn't understand anything anymore. I packed my most important things to go. Before I left I put a note for May in the kitchen and went to Peter's room one last time. The necklace, I took it off and put it on his desk. I found it difficult to leave it here, it was difficult for me to leave him. I wrote a small piece of paper that I put next to the necklace.
“Thought you definitely want it back, you will surely find someone else to give it to. I don't know why you're giving up on us, but I can't change anything about it. Maybe someday you will explain it to me, maybe not. I hope you feel better now."
