The four of us sat at the table. During dinner, Ruby and May told us what they had already talked about.

“We will sit down again with Mr. Baker and this Ms. White in the next few days and then convince them that everything is fine with both of you. However, Mr. Baker is unlikely to give in until I have a psychological profile of you, Lyra, to prove it. That takes at least two weeks. It is really important that you adhere to your ban on contact. They will use every little wrongdoing against you.”

“Okay, I'll do everything to get that over with as quickly as possible.”, Peter said.

May also seemed a bit stressed from the whole situation.
"Well then that would be settled. Let's just enjoy the rest of the evening together.“

I was admittedly a little curious about the exact relationship May and Ruby had with each other.
"Then one of you tell us how you know each other.", I asked May and Ruby.

The two looked at each other and decided with one look that May would tell the story.

“We were best friends during our school days and we were still close afterwards. But then at some point Ruby moved to another city and our meetings and phone calls became less and less until we had completely lost contact. We just drifted apart, but since there was never a argument or anything, we're still friends.”

“It's great that you found each other again!”, Peter remarked.

"Yes, of course.", Ruby replied.

It would be three more hours before Ruby pointed out to May and Peter that it was time to leave. To say goodbye, May pulled me into a hug.

"It'll be fine, we'll fix it!"

Peter just held my hands and said nothing, then let go and disappeared out the door with May.

"I'm going to bed, good night!", I called to Ruby in the kitchen and then disappeared into my room.

I lay down on my bed and picked up my cell phone. Should I call MJ? Or maybe Riley? No I wouldn't call anyone, nobody could really understand how I felt. Of course I could endure a few days without Peter, but I didn't want to be forced to, if then I wanted to be free to decide. I thought for a long time about the fact that I was no longer in control of my life, about what it would be like to ignore Peter at school, about everything. At some point I fell asleep

Not much had happened at school, Peter and I had avoided each other and Flash enjoyed watching it. When I stepped into the apartment, Ruby was waiting for me.

“Come here right away, we should start with your psychological profile! The faster the better.”

“Coming!”

I quickly brought my bag into my room and then went to Ruby in the living room. She was already sitting on the sofa with a clipboard and pen in hand. There was a questionnaire or something on the clipboard.

“For now, I just have a few simple questions to answer. Questions about your relationship with different people, how you are and something like that.”

“Okay, let's start! But after that I have to tell you something.”

I wanted to tell her about Flash and that he was behind all of it. I made up my mind to be as honest as possible. Ms. Roods was really nice and I actually found it very pleasant to have her here in the apartment, so I wasn't always so alone. She was also a friend of May's, which alone was a reason to like her. She quickly asked me the few questions and then put her things aside.

"So, you wanted to tell me something?"

"Yeah, I just wanted to say again that these injuries really just come from being clumsy and I know who sent the anonymous letter that Mr. Baker and Ms. White which gave them these ideas.”

“From whom? And why?”

“His name is Flash, he hates us. For him, Peter and my other friends are just losers and so am I, but somehow he also wants something from me at the same time. There have often been arguments between him and us. Mostly it's because I don't want anything from him. Instead, I'm with Peter and he doesn't like that. He rubbed it under our noses the other day that he wrote this letter."

"We have to tell that Mr. Baker, and then the matter will be settled."

"Not yet, I would like to try to talk to Flash alone. The next time I see him alone, I'll talk to him. If that doesn't work, we'll go to Mr. Baker.”

She looked kind of impressed and looked me up and down.
"You try to solve your problems yourself, that's good!"

What else should I do? Little did Ruby know that I had always done this, solved my problems myself. I had no other choice, I was always on my own. To be honest, I haven't found it so great to be alone in the apartment lately, I really enjoyed it when I stayed with May and Peter for a few days and when they were here for a few days. And I found Ruby here to be quite pleasant.

"I've always solved my problems myself!", I said before I went back to my room.
