When we got to my place, Mr. Stark, Happy, a couple of men and May were standing in the apartment. The body was gone and there was no more blood to be seen. As if nothing had ever happened here. May approached me smiling.

"Hey ... come here.", she greeted me with a soft voice and I hugged her. May was always so kind to me. Peter seemed a little amazed to see his aunt here.

"May what are you doing here?"

"Happy called me earlier and told me what happened and I thought Lyra shouldn't be alone now."

It was good that she came, I thought that was really good, it was nice to know that she cared for me. Peter and I went to my room, where I immediately put on my jogging suit and sat in the middle of my bed. I felt better but I still felt very weak and kind of sick and a little emotionless.

“Lie down, you need to rest. May and I will take care of everything!”

I held out my hand to Peter to signal that he should come to me. He sat down next to me on the bed. I grabbed his hand and held it tight.

"Thanks! Thanks, Peter! I tell you that far too seldom! I honestly don't know what I would do without you!"

-Peter-

I sat next to Lyra on the bed until she fell asleep, then I went back into the living room. Happy and Mr. Stark said goodbye and left the apartment. May and I sat down at the dining table.

“What do you think of staying here for a few days? I'll take the guest room and you'll either sleep there or in Lyra's room.”

“It's good that you suggest that. I think I'll need your help ... I don't think I can help her on my own."

Lyra slept almost exclusively for the next few days. When she got up, it was only briefly and then she still looked very dejected. She hardly recovered. After this went on for several days, I couldn't take it any longer and left the apartment. I had been to school every morning, but the rest of the time I spent exclusively inside. I went for a walk to clear my head.

When I returned, Lyra was awake. She even left her room. There she was now, laughing and talking on the phone in the kitchen. She ended the call.

“You got up and you're laughing again! I missed that.”

“Yes, I think I'm finally feeling better now.”

Lyra put her phone down and came up to me, she kissed me.

“Where have you been?”

“I just had to get out. I am so happy, that you finally feel better. It's really hard to see you like that, so exhausted, so… sad.”

“Don't worry, that's over now!”

With these words, she turned away again and was about to take something out of the kitchen cupboard when I interrupted her.

“Besides, it was partly my fault that you felt this way. This guy only showed up here because I wanted you back, even though I knew it would put you in danger. I knew that Mr. Stark and I couldn't do what they wanted ... maybe I shouldn't have done that.”

A little angry she spun around, her voice sounding annoyed.

“Stop blaming yourself for everything! It's not your fault, nobody is to blame. I also make my own decisions. I decided to take all of these risks. I made the decision to work with you, to take Mr. Stark's suit on and trust you with my life whenever necessary. I've decided that I won't get rid of this just because it's dangerous.
So don't you dare apologize for being with me!”

Shaking her head and looking serious, she walked past me, straight into her room. She was so right, she was right about everything she said. I followed her quickly, she was standing in front of the large mirror next to her closet. I went up behind her and looked at her through the mirror.

"You're right about everything.", I admitted and put my arms around her waist from behind. A brief moment passed, but then she put her hands on mine.

"Just promise you'll stop!"

Relieved, I nodded and kissed her temple.
