Tris POV

I walk slowly as I near the stage. Mostly everyone has left now. What happened? What is going to happen?

I walk up the steps and stand in front of the leaders and lead dancers.

"The stiffs crazy but being Divergent suits her" peter says. I look at Eric.

"I suspected this ever since Caleb brought you into Erudite...I can tell why Drew always said the same thing about you" I furrow my eyebrows. Drew told him these things? Of course he did he never really loved me.

"I wouldn't be so surprised because he did leave you for a reason" Zeke says. I glare at him.

"So...I guess you need to turn over all information Beatrice" Eric says pulling his phone out of his back pocket.

"Eric you don't need to do this" Susan interferes. I feel arms pull my hands back. Cool metal surrounds my wrist. What? The theory wasn't real! I'm factionless and unable to have a dancing career. It didn't work.

"He needs to follow the rules" Robert says.

" What rules, since when have we ever been a family in unison. Since when do we do things together?" Mathew laughs. I don't fight back the hand cuffs. There is no going back now. I stare at the ground.

"Eric what is the point of this?" Susan says "she's not even fighting back she knows what she just did" they all stare at me.

"What the hell were you planning Beatrice?" Peter yells at me. He walks up to me. All remain quiet "what were you planning with this?"

"I never planned to be here in the factions. I never wanted to. I thought this was a group. I wanted to be a part of the Factions not a part of a group of rivals" I say.

"Well you got yourself in here...take her out of here" Eric says. People take me by my arms.

"Wait" I hear someone say. They stop.

"What" Eric snaps.

"There's a theory that the first Divergent to step up gets another chance" I turn around to see Tobias facing Eric. Eric smiles. An evil smile. He laughs and everyone joins him.

"Four are you serious? She clearly doesn't want to be in the factions" Zeke laughs. I laugh and everyone turns towards me.

"Of course I don't want to be in Erudite" I say. Tobias looks at Zeke.

"She probably doesn't like the factions but she still cares for her dancing career" he says. He turns to Eric "what's wrong with giving her an opportunity?"

"I don't mind at all it's just that...who will take her in" I thank Tobias so much but. I don't need his help.

"Amity doesn't want trouble" Susan says. I don't get her. First she defends me and then she doesn't want me. Ha.

"I don't like divergents" Mathew says picking at his nail.

"It's on Dauntless" Robert says. Great. I look at Zeke.

"Fine. One more chance. Only because you went through the same situation my buddy went through" he says pointing at Tobias "that means you can let her go" Zeke says.

They remove the cuffs off my wrist. I grab onto my wrist massaging them. Ouch!

"That doesn't mean it's that easy...Tris is very stubborn. She'll have to think about it" Eric says.

"Is that true Tris?" Zeke arches an eyebrow.

"Yeah" I say looking at Tobias. He looks at me.

"Alright then I guess we're done here. No divergents for today" Mathew says.
