Tris POV

I lie in bed thinking through what Evelyn told me. She's right. Only I can help her to bring them together. At first when she left a note in my room, I thought she was going to challenge me. I was wrong. She told me what she went through. Terrible abusive moments...she said that if she didn't leave she might have killed him.

I have other things to worry about...meeting with the divergents won't be easy. Especially because I know Jordan is there. I Understand that I shouldn't worry like Tobias said but...I'm still worried. I mean it's hard to be in between two people...

I sit up and grab the phone off my desk. I check last nights messages. I had been talking to Caleb. He seems to be doing alright now that the factions are gone. He's eating better, he's sleeping better, and I have nothing to worry about...he told me that...Jordan didn't do anything, she's innocent. She never slept with Drew. She only did that to become a divergent leader. I'm worried what Tobias might think when he finds out about the truth.

Tobias moves around on the ground. I turn my phone off so he won't be able to see the light. I don't want him to know I'm awake. I turn over and close my eyes. I guess another nap won't hurt. I hear another movement and the bed moves as the weight carries one side down. He lays right next to me and pulls me into a hug.

I turn around to face him. He wears a serious expression on his face.

"You ready to meet the divergents today?" I shrug.

"What are they planning to do? It's so many people..."

"They'll think of something" I nod "we just need to find out what their game is...I'd hate to be rivals with Erudite again" I turn around to look at the ceiling. I can feel Tobias eyes on me, watching me with curiously

"What's gonna happen to Amar? He had control of the game...till Max took it away" I turn my head to look at him.

"I don't know" he says.

I walk side by side with Tobias as we walk towards the meeting room. I can feel my heart rushing the blood through my veins. I feel really tense. I know what's coming but Tobias has no idea.

"Stop it right there" a guy in black clothes says to me "no trespassers"

"Her names Tris, Tris Prior" Tobias says. I eye the guy up and down. He moves away allowing me to walk with Tobias.

"Thanks" I say already feeling distant from him. I just can't speak nicely when I remember Jordan. I don't know if he feels the rejection in my voice. He pulls me into a closet and shuts the door behind us.

"What's wrong" he says in a warning tone.

"Nothing, I just don't want to do this"

"Tris, what are you so scared about? Are you still thinking about last night? What I said about Jordan?"

"No" he raises an eyebrow.

"Tris, I don't care about her anymore...you are who I'm with right now okay?" I look everywhere else but at him. He sighs. A sigh that I get he's calming down. He walks up closer to me and places his fingers around my chin. He brings his hand over my jaw and down to my neck. He touches his lips to my forehead "I don't want to lose you Tris"

I breath out a breath I didn't know I'd been holding. He let's out a breath too.

"I don't want to lose you either" I say. I pull him into a hug and he hugs me back. He buries his head into my neck "Jordan's part of the divergents...she's innocent. She never slept with Drew...she...only did that to become a leader for the Divergent" I let out. I close my eyes and allow myself to surrender.

He looks up and holds me there.

"Tris" he says. I pull back.

"Lets just get this done with" I open the door and walk out. He still feels something for her...if not he would have ran after me...

I sit down across from Jordan. She's very beautiful. Tobias sits next to me...he hasn't spoken to me since I left him.

"We're asking you to be our leader...you're were the first divergent ever to revolt...we need someone like you to move these people"

"So basically you're telling me that I started all of this?" She shakes her head.

"Families are separated...you are the only one who can motivate these people"

"Well where do you want to go with this...remain with rivalry?" I don't know if I'm actually bothered by the fact that this is what they want or that Tobias and Jordan are in the same room.

"No, we don't want that" she says. I glance over at Tobias. His eyes remain on the table.

"You should take Four in as a leader" he meets my eyes. I look back at Jordan "I'm sure he'd like that" I stand up and walk out of the room.
