Tuesday
May 4th

"Girl, you'll never guess what that measly little bitch tried to do this morning," Angel busted through my office door, pulling my attention away from the contract I was looking over before signing

"Who and what are you talking about this time?" I sighed, not even surprised that that's the first thing she's said to me since day. Angel isn't normally in the building, and when she is, it's usually because she has something urgent to tell me or she wants to gossip.

"He's short, round, and bald. Take a guess," she dropped a folder on the desk in front of me. Opening the folder, I see a couple of papers labeled 'Imani's Real Estate'. The bank records for the company, which were dated last week. "What's this for," I pointed to a pending charge of one hundred thousand

"Take a guess, " she raised her eyebrows as she tried to contain her smile

"You're lying," I smiled, getting up from behind the desk

"Nope"

" I fucking love you, " I hugged her before running towards the door and opening it. "Abigail, please call all the board members for me." I stuck my head out. "Except Maya," I instructed, knowing Maya was in court.

Angel was the company's and my accountant, hence why she had full access to the company's bank statements. Having her as my accountant was simply one of the best business decisions I've made because not only does she have my best interest at heart, she also has the company since she's on the board.

While Abigail called them, I called one of the lawyers on my team from Maya's firm to draw up a contract for me which they faxed over while I printed copies of each of the bank statements

"How did you find this out early enough to stop the transaction from going through?" I asked, standing in front of my desk

"I've set an alarm on it. It tells me if someone other than you tries to withdraw a sum greater than $10,000." she clarifies

"Update it, make sure no one can even try to withdraw anything from it without my permission. I'll set a password when it's ready,"

It was the company's money, meaning the major shareholders would usually have some access to it, but since they're acting the way they are, I can't trust them with that.

20 Minutes later

I could almost smell the anticipation in the air as they sat there waiting for me to explain why I had called them here as I whirled around in my chair. It felt nice to know that they knew I was in control, even if they behaved as they did.

"Who knows the meaning of the word Embezzlement?" I looked ahead at them as I stopped whirling the chair.
"Embezzlement: Theft or misappropriation of funds placed in one's trust or belonging to one's employer," I spoke when no one answered

They all looked confused and seemingly annoyed, which I understood since I had them waiting.

"What's the meaning of this?. If we wanted a law lecture, I'm sure we would've chosen a different profession. We're busy people, Miss. Davis," Mrs. Ramirez, another board member, piped up.

" What am I? You think I have time to be up here talking to old ass people about fraud and embezzlement, " I asked calmly

"Look, we don't give a fuck if your wrinkly ass husband died this morning; you're going to listen to what she has to say because we're done with y'all bullshit as of today," Angel added, pointing at her
