"My who" I yelled
"Your mom" she repeated after a long pause
Silence, that's all that was surrounding me at the moment it seems as even the baby knew that it was time to be quiet
"I'm sorry ma'am but I think you've got the wrong person"
"I know this is random but I promise I don't, your my daughter" she persisted
I stood their staring at her for a moment trying to see if I could find any resemblance between us but the only thing I see that we have in common was our eyes and nose and that surely isn't enough to think someones your mom. Although in the back of my mind something's telling me that she is I don't want to believe it
"I'm sorry but in not" I sweetly said as I tuned my back making my way back to my office
"Ma'am you need to leave " I heard Ryan said
"I have a picture..look " she shouted
I stopped, turned and look at the paper she held up in her hand, I didn't move I just stared at her. I stood there and stare at her because I was scared to go and look at the picture, I was scared because something tells me it was me on the picture and although I've been yearning to one day meet my parents again,I was finally comfortable with the way my life turned out and I'm not sure if I wanted it to change just yet .
So I did the best thing I could've done for myself right now ...I turned around and went to my office
Walking into the office I sat the baby on my lap , took out my phone and started to call Maya, Angel on FaceTime in the group chat
"Hey!!" Angel yelled into the phone while smiling
"Hey bitch" Maya said at that same time grinning
"Hey y'all, hows your day going so far?" I asked
"It's been great my brother took me to get crab legs" Maya said
"You Deadass did you leave me some" Angel ask
"Yea I made him buy some for y'all too"
"Aww she loves us Alex" Angel cooed
"Nah I just know y'all be some hungry bitches" she said making us laugh
"How was your day tho" Maya asked when we stopped laughing
"It was unexpected" I said
"What happened" they asked at the same time
" This lady showed up saying she's my mom and I kinda believe her"
It was silent for a while they both just stayed frozen on the screen the only noise being made was the baby gargling
"Well I'll be damned" Maya shouted
"What did say" Angel ask
"Well....I kinda told her to leave" I said
"And why tf did you do that" they both yelled
"First of all stop talking at the same time... acting like some damn twins and I'm not sure I want parents" I answered
"She just coping me and what do you mean you don't want parents ....everyone want parents " Said Angel
"Nah bitch you coping and why don't you want parents " Maya retorted
"Well to be honest I've come this far without them so I really don't see the need for them or anything there's nothing they can really teach me that I don't already knows"
"Valid point but don't you wanna get to know her or something like that" Angel said
"Not really they didn't try to get to know me why should I" I said
Again they went silent trying to look for the right thing to say
"Anyway y'all wanna go to the club with me"? I asked breaking the silence
"I'm always down to go to the club"!! Maya yelled into the phone again
"Why you gotta be so loud"? Angel asked
"Why you gotta be so quiet"?she retorted
"Y'all argue like some little ass kids just make sure y'all ready by 9 so Angel start getting ready by 7 because you move slow as hell now bye!!!" I said clicking the end button before either of them can say anything
"They talk a lot don't they?" I asked Abby
"Yes" she shouted
"I know right" I smiled at her then kissing her cheek
I stayed in my office finishing up paperwork until the baby fell asleep , I called Ryan for her ,telling him to put her in her crib while I finished all the work had to do until it was time to for me to say bye to the kids and go home .
