"Buzz buzz buzz " my phone vibrates on the kitchen counter

"Hello" I answered

"Good morning Ms. Davis " I heard my assistant said

"I told you to call me Alexandria, Ryan and why are you calling?"

"Sorry Ms Dav- Alexandria and I'm calling because the kids are asking for you " he said

Rolled my eyes and said "I'm on my way now tell them to behave "

"Ok ma'am," he said before I hang up

I finish putting on my shoes and went out to my range rover starting it, I was going to the orphanage I owned so I didn't really get too dressed because was gonna mess up my clothes anyway .

It was like an hour away so I played some music until I reached there. Walking in the building the staff and security said their good morning as I go through the scanners. As soon as I walk through all the kids run up to me hugging and telling me good morning

"Good morning guys, how did you sleep "asked while rubbing a little boys head

"It was good as always "another on other side answered

"Wah wah wah"I heard and looked up to see Ryan holding up Abby the one-year-old baby who was recently dropped of here

"What's wrong with her" I while stretching out my hands to take her

As soon as she was in my arms she put her head down on my shoulder and and start sniffling

"Shh shh " I said as I repeatedly patted her back

"She just woke up and started crying " he responded finally

"Did she eat?" I asked

And by his silence I'm guessing she didn't .

" Please get me some fruits on a tray so I can give it to her," I said shaking my said

He walked off toward the kitchen.

I looked down at the other kids surrounding me and said " I'm going to my office to get some paperwork done tell him to bring the food there and call me if you guys want anything ".
They nodded and ran off as I walked over to my office with the baby on my shoulder

I sat in my chair and open my laptop and started answering some emails until my phone rang

"Hello Mrs Davis speaking "

"Hi Mrs. Davis this is Mr. Renolds again and I'm calling on behalf of Mr. Green to make the proposition of taking the orphanage off your hands, he would gladly pay you 5 mill-" he said before I cut him off

"Me Renolds I told you and your boss that the orphanage a not up for sale and it don't matter how much he's paying me I won't take it simply because I have my own money and the isn't just an orphanage this is these kids home the sooner he gets that in his fucking head the easier your job would be ". I calmly said and hang up before he can reply

Putting the phone down the phone I saw Abby staring up at me with her big brown eyes and wet lashes.

"They really don't know how to leave me alone do they," I said looking at her

I build this organization with my own money to create a home for kids without so that they can feel safe, supported, and loved and I will not sell this to anyone just so they can turn it into a business and political playground

She smiled at me like she knew what I was talking about as I once her on my leg .

Knock knock knock

"Come in " I shouted

"It's her food ma'am," Ryan said having it to me

"Thank you " I smiled at him

He turns around and left

I cut up the fruits in smaller pieces and fed to her as she babbles and frails her hands around.

"Are you full " I asked smiling he

"ha ba ba ba " she shouted then started smiling back

"So I guess that's a yes, "I said

"Ma'am sorry for not knocking" Ryan bust through my door making it slam on the wall causing Abby to be frightened.

"What is it"? I ask

"There's this woman arguing with the security and demanding to see you" he rushed out

"What am I paying them for if they can't get a defenseless woman out of a building "? I mumbled to myself while getting up with the baby

I walked out to the front of the building with the baby as he trailed behind me.

"I'm telling you she'll know me just get her out here " I heard someone shouted as I walked around the corner

"Ma'am, you need to leave before I call the cops and get you arrested " my security guard Steve said

"Ma'am, you can't go back there," he said while trying to grab her

"What's going on here"?

"I'm sorry Mrs. Davis she just won't leave," Steve said grabbing her hands pulling her out

"What do you want," I ask her

"I just want to talk" she retorted

I looked at her confused because the way she was talking would make it seem like I know her but I've never seen her before

"Do I know you"? I asked

"It's me, baby girl, your mom" she replied.
