i slowly open my eyes. i had no idea where i was but i was in a bed in a very plain room. my eyes were really blurry. i moved my hands up and rubbed my eyes. as they went into focus i saw needles in my hands so i started to freak out a little. as i looked around the room i realised i was in a hospital. i had a terrible head ache. i could feel my head throbbing. i raised my hand to my face and as i looked back up i saw luke standing next to my bed. i was about to cry when i said “hey babe”
“hey”
“so whats going on?”
“nothing much what do you remember?”
“i was coming to sydney because pop had a heart attack. and i slept in the car. than i was” i paused for a while “i don't know luke what happened?” i was getting teary and so was he. he pulled back a sob and said “well you got into a car accident. a man ran a red light and hit your car door and you. you’ve arr.” he paused for a really long time. you’ve been in a coma for arr 4 months.” i took in alot of deep breathes and started to cry. luke walked over and hugged me tight. “and there was something else”
“what” at that exact moment i thought my pop passed away.
“no um promise not to freak out ok but look.” he started to pull my sheet down. as i looked down by stomach was the size of a balloon. i raised my hands over my month and started to cry. “luke... am i pregnant?” luke scrunched his face up and started to cry.
“you would have been 5 months today” i started breathing heavily again. “the doctor said the baby survived the crash but while you were in a coma your body wasn't strong enough to repair yourself and keep the baby alive. jess I'm so sorry. are you ok?” i put my hands over my face and cried. “have you told any one?” he shook his head side to side and said “no. no one”
“can you keep this a secret please.” tears ran down my face. luke nodded his head up and down. he wiped away my tears and kissed me on my fore head.
