You know when it's just one of those days where school or work just exhausts you to the bone and all you want to do is go home? It was one of those days for Jimin. Finally, the end of his last class for the day and he just couldn't wait to be wrapped in Jungkook's arms for the rest of the evening but of course, there is always something to get in the way of that.
Jimin is strolling down the outdoor path that took him straight to the bus stop, humming happily to an indie rock song he'd been quite obsessed with since he heard it.
"I've had enough
I need your innocence
Don't let up
Just give me your love
Give me your release
I need your healing with your touch
I can take it, I can take all the pain"
Jimin had been browsing a playlist on Spotify named Cotton Candy on Tuesday night after the end of his class. Having been quite paranoid that day when he was assigned his project for half the month, Jimin quickly got on Youtube and Google to search for the best Indie Rock song that best fit his voice. It had taken about two days to find the perfect song-until now.
Jimin wonders why the anonymous person on Spotify would name such a soft playlist after cotton candy and for some reason it stuck with him.
Lost in thought, Jimin bumps roughly against someone who also ends up on the ground beside him. The rough concrete scuffing his elbow with just the smallest amount of blood staining his skin. Jimin winces but nonetheless begins to apologize.
Sitting up on his knees, Jimin bows guilt displayed on his face. "I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking wher-"
Jimin stops speaking when he sees, Taehyung also on his knees with a nervous smile on his face. "H-Hi.." he gulps.
Jimin stands up without saying a thing, dusting himself off. Taehyung waits on his knees watching his stone-cold face just in case he'd find any sign of emotion. Yet there were none. When Jimin is done, he looks down at Taehyung and extends his arm. Taehyung, shocked, takes it.
They stand in awkward silence while Jimin collects his things off the ground. Just as he is about to leave without a word, he halts when he hears his nickname. "Minnie..." The raven haired whimpers, tears gathering in his eyes at the sight at his once soft, fluffy and sweet best friend. "Can we talk?"
The silver haired contemplates whether he should leave without even a glance or should he give him the time of day? He ends up choosing the latter option.
Jimin chooses the latter option because he gave Jungkook a chance—a boy who he had barely known for almost a year now—why not his best friend who he's known since the very day Taehyung was born? He sighs and turns to face Taehyung, observing his tired, rueful eyes and the trembling frown on his lips.
"Okay."
Taehyung nervously tenses and grabs his hand to guide him to take a seat on a nearby concrete bench. He keeps his distance, trying his hardest to not worsen the situation with Jimin in any way—Jimin notices. Taehyung fidgets with his long fingers, trying to find the words he's been trying to convey.
