When Logan finally returned he found the others sitting around the table surrounded by paper work and all of them had their noses in a book. They all looked tired and fed up. He could tell that they didn't have a very wild afternoon. Still as he walked through the door Adam smiled brightly at him. The glass from the shattered window had been cleaned up and a temporary cloth had replaced it. He caught eye contact with Maverick who was looking at him suspiciously. Logan held his hands up in defense "don't worry I didn't kill anybody" he lowered his hands and smirked. There was a brief moment of silence before Maverick replied "so what did you do?". Logan shrugged as he pulled up a chair and sat next to Adam "Not much". He stared at Adam who was drinking his cold coffee. "I do have a question though". Adam went back to his book not noticing that Logan was staring. He didn't say another word until finally looked up from his book and saw Logan. "What?" he asked looking around the group. "I wanna know why you bought a witch with you when you came into town?" Adam's eyes went wide "what?!" he said again but louder. He stared back at Logan in disbelief "don't pretend you have no idea what I'm talking about. It's funny that the same day you show up, so does a witch" Adam put his book down "Logan- ''''No" he interrupted "You bought a witch with you to kill me. You can't be trusted" Maverick stood up and gave Logan a warning look telling him to back down. To Maverick's surprise he did. "If you must know Logan." he said "I'm the one who asked Adam to bring her. And it wasn't to kill you. When she didn't show up I assumed she wasn't coming" Maverick looked at Adam as if telling him it's his turn to explain. "Er.. She said she had stuff to sort out" Adam continued "I had no idea when she was going to show up". Logan shook his head "what the hell?" "You invite a witch and don't tell any of us? A witch? They hate vampires. What were you thinking?". Maverick held up a hand to silence Logan. "Whatever intention she had towards you I'm sure there's a good reason. But she isn't like any ordinary witch. And I know that because she is my Goddaughter". Kairo's mouth dropped open. The whole time he had known Maverick he had no idea he had a God daughter. "Well who is she?". Maverick put his hands together and calmly replied. "I was close to her parents. That's all you need to know about her really. She has information on Jeremy. Her and Adam have been looking into him for months now to see if all of this is true." Logan scoffed "And we're supposed to just trust her are we? We don't even know her" Adam made a noise that sounded like a laugh. Logan's eyes shoot towards him. Adam looked nervous but didn't back down. "You're not exactly the trusting type," he said quietly. He knew it was a mistake as soon as the words came out of his mouth. Logan's eyes filled with fury Maverick moved to stand between the two. "Enough" he said before Logan pounced on Adam "How can we do anything if you are causing trouble?" Logan refused to look at him. He felt like a child with the way that Maverick was looking at him. "What's the witch's name?" asked Kairo, trying to change the subject. He'd silently sat observing the situation. Usually with witches you can tell how powerful they are by their name as they would be well known. Maverick hesitated for a moment. "Diana. Her name's Diana". Kairo didn't recognise the name. But he figured that was probably on purpose. Maverick seemed to be very protective over Diana. He would have liked to know more but he knew that if Maverick wanted something hidden. Then it would be. "What exactly happened between you two anyway?" Kairo was now looking at Logan. Maverick had moved from between him and Adam but Maverick was still looking concerned. Logan's mind thought about the kiss that he shared with Diana. Her soft lips. Her smooth skin. Her attitude that just seemed to entice him. It brought a small smile to his lips when he realised the others were still waiting for. He got out of his trance and lost his smile. "Er.." it took him a moment to find his words "Like I said. She tried to kill me. Or that's what it felt like at least." he could still feel everyone's eyes on him making him feel under pressure. "What we should be asking is why is she in town but not here?" Kairo smiled "Well by the sounds of things she was busy getting one up on you" he chuckled to himself but Logan just glared. "Well I don't care if she's here to help," said Logan. "I don't want her anywhere near me". "Well that's a shame" said a voice. All their heads turned to the doorway where Diana was leaning against the door frame. "I thought we could have some more bonding time"
