The passageway was in better condition than Maverick expected. The ground was uneven and had lots of rubble on the ground from where it had started to fall apart. But they were about halfway and so far had no issues. "Do you hear anything?" Diana asked Kairo as they trailed behind the others. Kairo didn't reply. The whole journey he'd tried using his vampire senses to know what was going on behind them back at the house. But he hadn't heard a peep. Not even a mind message from Logan. "We never should have left him," Diana said. Sean scoffed. "He's scum. who cares". Diana was surprised he could even hear them. She didn't appreciate his comments either. In front of them Maverick slowed down. "Damn it" she heard him very faintly. "What is it?" she called, struggling to see. "A blockage" Maverick called back. Diana squeezed past the others to get the front. What she saw when she got to Maverick was large bits of stone that was blocking the path in front of them. "It's fallen down," Maverick explained, shining the light to the top so she could see where it had come apart. "Can we move it?" she asked, still hopeful. Maverick took a moment to inspect the damage. "If we do it'll cause the rest to come down." he pointed to where the largest bit of rock was holding up the beams that held together the rest of the ceiling. They'd be trapped on either side. "So what do we do?" asked Zoe. Diana was almost happy. She knew the only option they had. "We'll have to go back," she said. Maybe Logan is still there. Maybe this was a sign saying that he needed them or that he's safe. "It's the only way," Maverick added on. And so he began leading them back the way they had just come. Kairo and Diana shared a look of hopefulness. They were both thinking the same thing.

As the door opened back up revealing the library they'd escaped from just a few hours ago Diana felt a shock of emotions. The whole room had been trashed. Everybook of the shelf had been ripped and thrown on the floor. There wasn't a single piece of furniture that was still intact. Claw marks on the walls tearing off the wall paper, but also. No sign of Logan. No sign of anyone. Not a single sound of anyone being present. "Jesus" breathed Adam. He sounded thankful that they had gotten out in time to miss all of this. Kairo was standing at the desk and somehow managed to keep standing. He was staring at something on it. "What is it?" Diana asked, making her way over to him. He picked up some papers and handed it to her whilst the others came and joined her. On the paper was scribbled writing. As if someone had written it in a rush. It took a while to realise that Logan had written it.

I doubt that any of you will even see this. But eventually you'll return home to rebuild it. Maybe you'll find it then. Either way this is like my last goodbye to you all. I have to write this in a rush because Jeremy is currently waiting for me outside and he's a very impatient man. I'm going to join his army. Maybe I can uncover some truths whilst I'm there. Find out a plan. I'll try to communicate with you but that may be difficult. And yes. Those who's wondering haven't figured it out yet. I am a hybrid. But I wasn't the stereotype that everyone assumed they were. I have never been under Jeremy's control until now. Hopefully you can all understand that. I hope to see you again under better circumstances.

Kairo - I didn't tell you this in the many years that I have known you. And I only realise it now after you've left. Even though it may seem like I saved you. I think you really saved me. Had it not been for having to look out for you all these years I may have given in to Jeremy a lot sooner.

Adam - You annoy the hell out of me. I don't think that will change. There's just something about nerdy little puppies that grind my gears.

Diana - Well... I said everything that was on my mind to you already. Don't feel bad for not knowing what to say back. I didn't expect you to say anything. Nothing can be done about it. It wouldn't be allowed even if I had stayed. But either way. You should be leading that coven. Not Maverick or Gina. You.

That brings me to a favour I need to ask of you. With all the chaos going on I forgot. Before Kairo was captured and I had gone off on my own, I found someone. His name is Jacque and he's a werewolf. He lives in a hidden cage, not too far from where we had stopped. He was recruited by Jeremy to be turned into a hybrid. But he escaped. He refused to share information with me. He could tell what I was and didn't trust me. The only way he said he would is if I bought back the very powerful witch I was working with against Jeremy. He's scared and he's been driven away from his family. I need you to find him. Tell him I sent you. He'll trust you. He can help you. I know that's a lot to ask. You don't owe me anything. You don't owe him anything. But I think he's a good factor in this war we're in.

After you all had left Jeremy told me something. And I pray to God you figure this out in time before it screws you. Zoe planned for all of this to happen. She made a deal with Jeremy. I don't know what the bargain was. All I know is that she meant for you to escape with her and me to stay behind. Just be careful.

- Logan

All eyes turned towards Zoe. "Is that true?" Diana asked. Zoe stepped backwards "You don't understand. He's a hybrid.. I didn't want him hanging around my little sister". Diana's eyes narrowed. "you planned this? what the hell is wrong with you?" she crept closer to Zoe forcing her to keep taking steps back in order to not be too close to her. "We did what you asked. Why couldn't you just leave afterwards". Maverick came and stood in between the two of them. "You need to cool off, '' he said and nudged her towards the door. She stormed out of the library with Kairo following her. Diana stood outside of the house. She would have slammed the door on her way out, but there wasn't any door left to slam. "Hey" Kairo was close behind her. Diana was filled with so much anger she had barely heard him following her out of the house. She was breathing heavily and pacing back and forth, trying to calm down. It was just too damn impossible. "Logan will be fine. He knows how to handle himself". Still pacing Diana managed a reply. "That's not what this is about. She's had a golden life. But it was never good enough for her. Not a single part of it. So she runs away and gets stripped of all her powers so she can live out her days with a mortal and what... She still has to screw us" She sat down on the grass feeling the warmth of the sun on her face. "I just can't catch a break from all the bullshit my dysfunctional family has to go through''. Kairo came and joined Diana on the grass. "Are you sure that's the reason you're mad at her?". Diana stared straight on. Her brows creased as she looked slightly confused. "Not because she forced Logan to go away just as he confesses feelings for you?". Diana's headshot round to look at Kairo. But he didn't back down from her stare. "I just wish I was a little more prepared for it, '' she replied. Kairo took a deep breath. Diana had been off since Logan had visited her in her room. He couldn't work out if that was because her and Logan were apart or if... "You don't feel the same way?" he asked the question but he'd already guessed the answer. The look on Diana's face and the fact she wouldn't make eye contact with, confirmed his suspicion. "That makes me a terrible person,'' she accused. Kairo brought his knees up to his chest taking a deep breath. "No," he confirmed. There was silence. "You can't force yourself to feel that way just because he feels that way". Kairo did feel bad for Logan despite telling Diana this. He'd pushed Logan into telling her and now she's confessing she doesn't feel the same. A little part of him was glad that Logan wasn't the one having to hear it. "I just won't ever get past what he did or who he used to be fair" Diana continued. "Which I know is unfair because they make mistakes and they can change. And now he's off with Jeremy somewhere because he wanted to save us". Kairo looked out at the empty space ahead of them. He didn't want to voice this to anyone, because it'd destroy their hope. But he really wasn't too sure about Logan's real intentions when it came to his sacrifice. Did Logan really want to help? Or is he just protecting himself? He knows that to end Jeremy. To do that all hybrids must die. Including Logan. He knows they'd have to do it at some point. Was this his onl;y escape? Just disguised as a heroic act? After all, it seemed that Logan did give up pretty easily. Especially when he's a man known for loving to go down with a fight. Kairo tried to shake the feeling from himself. Hoping and praying that he was wrong and that Logan was really out there doing the right thing.
