Diana moved away from the door. She took one look around the tiny house that they were staying in and gave it a disapproving look. "Could have picked a bigger place" she said and smiled at Maverick as if they were sharing a private joke. When he didn't respond she moved onto Adam giving him a nod acknowledging his presence. Adam looked mad. Not quite Logan's rage but enough to tell he wasn't happy. He got up and grabbed Diana by the arm hustling her outside. He shut the door which made no difference as everything could be heard through the broken window. "What do you think you were doing?" Adam raised his voice a little but he wasn't shouting. "Don't go try killing the most dangerous vampire in existence and then leave me to deal with him afterwards!" He ran his hands through his hair "He could have killed me" . Adam was getting angrier as he spoke but he didn't let it get the better of him. "I wasn't trying to kill him," said Diana, whose voice stayed calm and cool. "And he's not really dangerous," she added. Logan rolled his eyes unimpressed by what he could hear. He poked his head out of the broken window "By the way guys" he said gesturing to the big gap in the house "We can hear every word you're saying". Adam led Diana further away from the house. He took her down the trail so that they could be out of ear shot. Even from Logan and Kairo's vampire hearing.
"I still don't trust them," Logan admitted as he came back from leaning out of the window. Maverick sighed. "I'll go find out what's happening". He left the house and set off down the same path as Adam and Diana. Logan watched him go. "I'm serious" Logan said as if Maverick hadn't even said a word. Kairo shrugged. He'd been very quiet since they'd been told about Diana. "What can we do?" he asked. "We need the help". Logan shook his head. He checked the window to see where the others were. When he decided it was safe to talk he looked back at Kairo and said "I don't think we do need the help. Maverick knows about the problem now he can deal with it". "We can't just leave him to sort this out. Jeremy's soldiers after us. We're bang in the middle of this" Logan punched the wall furious at the situation. "Exactly. Staying here only means that the soldiers will catch up with us, we need to go on the run again" Kairo didn't respond. By now he was used to Logan being selfish and only caring about himself. Kairo wondered why he had put up with it for so long. But the main thing that was on Kairo's mind is why Logan had stayed with him for so many years. If he really wanted to, Logan could leave now and not get caught. Just like he wanted. But instead he was trying to convince Kairo to come with him. And although Logan did a very good job at hiding it. Kairo moved in front of Logan. "What are you so afraid of?" he asked. And for the first time since he'd met him Kairo saw Logan lose the angry expression on his face. He stood up straight and ran his hand through his hair moving it so that it no longer covered his piercing blue eyes. He looked normal, He looked almost human when he didn't have the evil smirk on his face. "I told you" Logan said "The soldiers are getting closer" "Logan come on" Kairo took a step closer to him but kept away from his personal space. "I've known you long enough to know when you're lying. Isn't it about time you tell me?" Logan looked at the ground. It was strange for Kairo to see Logan look so defenceless. Whatever he was hiding was something big. And it only worried Kairo more. If Logan was scared of something then it sure as hell scared the crap out of Kairo too whether he knew what it was or not. "Fine," said Logan, surprising Kairo. "But you're not going to like it". Kairo nodded toward him, giving him permission to continue. Just as Logan opened his mouth to speak, the door to the house opened. Both Logan and Kairo turned to see the others walking in. Logan looked back at Kairo giving him a sorry gaze and then subtly shook his head. "What's going on?" asked Maverick, noticing the tension between the two. "Nothing," replied Logan, going back to his usual self. He looked Diana in the eyes for the first time since he last saw her. "So what do you know?" he asked, trying not to stare at her too intently. "I have a list" she announced "A list of every hybrid that Jeremy has created or is in his bloodline." She smiled "I swiped it from one of his guards" she looked proud of herself. "And they're all on there?". She nodded confirming his answer. "All we have to do is go through it and track them down so we know who to kill" . "What's that gonna do?" Logan said, rolling his eyes. Diana was confused "If we know who the hybrids are we have a better chance of finding Jeremey". "And then what?" Logan asked "We don't know how to kill him or where is. It just seems completely pointless". Diana folded her arms, becoming cross with him. "Why are you getting so dramatic over this? The list is a starting point. We capture the hybrids, find out what makes them tick and get information on Jeremey". Logan's eyes widened in disbelief "Torture?. How classy of you. What a typical insensitive witch thing of you to do". Diana laughed "says you" she shot back. She took out a small book from her back pocket and handed it to Adam. "The names are in there," she said. Logan looked around warily. "What's wrong? '' she asked "It's just not safe here. There's people coming after us" he gestured at him and Kairo. "The rest of you will be caught if you're with us" he shrugged as if saying he didn't care if they got caught. He made it clear they couldn't blame him for it. Diana scowled "Is there people after you both or just you." she asked. Kairo held Logan back from losing his temper with Diana. "Look" he said in a kinder tone "He is right. You guys will be caught in the crossfire if whoever is chasing us catches you too" He glanced at Logan. Even though he didn't know his true intentions of wanting to leave so quickly he knew they had to get away. "So you wanna split?" asked Adam, who hadn't even looked at the book of names yet. "No," Diana interrupted before Kairo could reply. "We gotta stick together. Supernatural lives depend on it. I know a place that could keep us safe". Maverick took a step forward giving Diana a concerned look. "That place is sacred to Diana," he said. They shared a look as if having a conversation within each other's minds. "It's okay" She finally said out loud. Maverick looked to the floor and nodded. Everyone in the room could tell he felt uneasy but he said nothing else to protest it. "So where are we going?" asked Logan. Diana smiled, feeling cheery "My home".
