Logan spun on his heel to see Kairo sat up from where had been sleeping. Still with a bloody bruised face. "Kairo let me help '' Diana started to make her way over to him but he stood up before she got all the way. She stopped in her tracks as he steadied himself against a wall. He paid her no attention. His eyes just fixed on Logan. "What did she just say?" he demanded. Logan rolled his eyes, annoyed at having to go through all of this again. "Can we just get out of here and talk about this later?". He looked at Diana pleading with his eyes. She shook her head, not being able to bring herself to knock him out with a spell. He rolled his eyes again and strode over to Kairo. He tried to push Logan away but it didn't work. He grabbed Kairo by the back of the neck and looked him straight In the eye. "Go back to sleep". Kairo's eyelids slowly started to shut. Diana watched in disbelief as he used his compel on Kairo. Logan caught his body and laid him gently back onto the floor. "Send a message to the others' ' Logan said without looking at Diana. "Tell them to meet us at your family home"

Diana sent a telepathic message to Maverick to tell him they had found Kairo but he was badly injured so they should go on without them. She left out the parts about Logan and the hunters. She figured that was a story best told in person. Logan carried Kairo back to the town checking round every corner to make sure they wouldn't be seen. Diana had to check them into a hotel and distract the clerk so Logan could sneak past. When they finally got up to the room Logan rested Kairo on the bed letting out a sigh of relief and rubbing his shoulders. "I thought your extra strength would make things easier, '' Diana said, gesturing to Kairo. Logan scowled "He's still pretty heavy so matter how much strength I've got". He scanned the room to make sure there were bugs or secret cameras. Diana pointed out that they wouldn't be allowed to have those things in the room but he checked anyway. "We're living in the human world right now. We've gotta be careful or God knows what that'll mean for us". Once Logan was sure there was no one spying on them he went to sit by the window keeping a lookout. Diana let out a little chuckle. "Now I know about your hybrid side things like this just seem funnier" Logan's brow creased confused "Looking out the window?" Diana prompted. But Logan still just wasn't getting it. "You look like a do-" Logan held his hand up to stop her. "Don't say it '' he warned. He nodded towards Kairo ''How long is gonna be out?". "We should be able to get him home before he wakes up. Providing we don't run into any traffic" she used her fingers for quotation marks for the word traffic. Meaning the hunters. Logan turned his attention back to the window. "Tell me more about.. you know." Diana sat down opposite him. He shrugged "Not much to tell" he breathed. "Well how did it happen?". A wry smile wiped across Logan's face. "Why are you so interested? An hour ago you didn't even want to be in the same room as me". "You said I could trust you. So prove it". A few moments went by and Logan said nothing. Just concentrating on the outside world. Diana was about to get up and Leave when he finally said "I was walking home. Thought I'd take a shortcut and I jumped. I had a few cuts and grazes, nothing I was too worried about. I went to school the next day as if it never happened. But then in the third period I was feeling really off. Couldn't quite put my finger on what was wrong. All I know is that my ankle is in agony. So I accuse myself from class to go see what it is" He leans forward and pulls up his right jeans leg. Diana looked closer. On his calf were four tiny scarred circles either side. "Now just imagine that but a lot more bloodier and bruised". Logan pulled his jeans back down covering the scar. "You were in school? How old were you?". "16". Diana reached her hand wanting to take his. But she stopped herself and thought better of it. "You were just a kid". Logan shrugged. "I'm not anymore. I mean.. physically yeah. But it was a long time ago now." Diana nodded not that she could understand such a situation. "But to be turned from a vamp to a wolf... That must have been hard". Logan stretched out his legs. "Nah I was a wolf turned vamp" he said matter of factly as if it were a common mistake. "He turned me into a vamp, '' Logan said again as if that would answer all her questions. "Wait... he? Do you know who bit you? Have you ever tried tracking down". Logan laughed hysterically. Diana wasn't sure of what was going on. "Would you track down the guy who ruined your life?" Diana opened her mouth to answer but Logan stopped her "It was rhetorical. Anyways I don't have to track him down. He's quite the popular one" Diana looked frustrated. Clearly annoyed that Logan was playing a guessing game with her. He rolled his eyes at her. "Jeremy is the one that bit me. I was his first successful hybrid"
