Logan continued to run, enjoying the freedom until he came to some woods. He'd only been gone under half an hour but the sky was now dark. He was in the middle of nowhere but he didn't care. He was away from Diana and the others. He felt his stomach ache. He hadn't eaten in a while. He looked around and found a rabbit to drain. It wasn't great but it was the best he had on hand. After he had his meal he began to take a small stroll through the woods. He walked past what looked like a cave. Logan squinted his eyes. It was quite dark by now but he was sure he wasn't seeing things. He inched closer, being cautious. Anything could be lurking around. As he got closer he knew what he saw was true. The cave had been slightly covered over with overgrown trees and the entrance was a small slope going down. Indicating that half the cave was hidden underground. It looked lifeless inside but Logan couldn't shake the feeling that something was inside there. He also couldn't resist his curiosity. He entered the cave and slowly made his way in. It was a lot darker than outside. The cave was quite long and smelt as if something was rotting. Logan could hear a tiny waterfall in the distance. Still being cautious he walked toward the sound. When he got to a corner he stopped. His vampire abilities kicked in and he could feel a presence. He peeked around the corner. Sat next to the small waterfall was a big figure. He seemed to be dressed in rags and looked like he had cuts and bruises all over him. The figure looked at Logan terror in his eyes. He quickly moved from the waterfall and backed into a corner whimpering. Logan came out from where he was hiding. As he was closer to the figure he could sense more things about him. Like fear. Or the fact that this figure was a werewolf. Logan took another step towards the figure trying to get a good look at his face. But as he drew closer the figure screamed. "NO". Logan stopped in his tracks straight away unsure what to make of this. "Don't take me back there... No. Please." Logan looked around to see if there was someone else this man could be talking to. But it was just him. "STAY AWAY" the figure shouted. Logan took a couple more careful steps. He was quite close to the figure now and could just about make out his face. He had short black hair like Kairo's. His face was dirty and half covered in blood and half soaked in water from the waterfall. "Please" cried the man. Logan put up his hands so the man could clearly see them, "I'm not going to hurt you" he said whilst carefully sitting down not taking his eyes off the other man. "You're one of them," the man replied. Logan's eyes widened. How did he know? "Don't take me back," the man begged. "Take you back where?" asked Logan. The man had calmed down with his whimpering and slowly looked at Logan as if he was scared to lay his eyes on him. "I don't recognise you," the man said. Not making any sense. "Well I'm Logan," he said, holding out his hand. When the man didn't shake it he dropped his hand and rested it on his leg. "I know what you are," the man claimed. "You're a hybrid". Logan took a deep breath. The stranger had figured out his secret. One that he hadn't told a single soul since he had been turned. Not even Kairo knew. "I'm Jacque," the man said. He seemed a lot calmer now. Like he was relaxing. "I have been known as experiment 971 when they had me captured". Logan had no idea what Jacque was talking about but he figured he should just let him talk. Hoping that it'd all make sense somewhere. "How have you not been captured yet?" Jacque asked. "I'm really not sure what you're talking about". Jacque sat up so he could look at Logan better. "Jeremy's camp. Where he keeps all of his experiments. Where he keeps all of his hybrids. You really don't know about it?" That's when Logan realized why Jacque had been so scared. He'd been kidnapped from his pack to be turned into a hybrid and trained to join Jeremy's army. His werewolf senses must have been able to figure out what Logan was and his first thoughts must have been that Logan arrived to take Jacque back to camp. Logan felt unsure about the situation he had let himself into. Jacque must have noticed his unease as he quickly went into explaining himself. "It's not what you think. They captured me but I escaped." Logan still didn't say anything. Jacque already knew his big secret. He didn't want to accidentally give off any other information about himself. He knew he couldn't trust anyone who had been near Jeremy. "You have no right to be scared of me!" claimed Jacque. "You're the hybrid here. You've probably come here to take me back to that awful place". Logan shook his head. He realized this guy was probably just crazy. But he needed any information about Jeremy he could gather. "I'm not a soldier". Jacque laughed in disbelief. "Yeah right. Jeremy has every hybrid under his control. What makes you so different?". Logan tried to loosen up and looked at Jacque properly for the first time. He seemed defenseless, scared, and weak. How could he possibly do anything to Logan? "I escaped before he could get to me," Logan confessed. He stepped closer and sat down in front of him. " I know it's hard to believe. But I'm not with Jeremy. I'm against him. I want him dead" Jacques eyes widened. "Your own leader is dead?". Logan scowled at him. "He's not my leader." he said a little too loud. "He ruined my life and took away my family" Logan was shouting now. He stood up filled with rage. Jacque held up his hands looking scared. "Woah! Hey... It's okay". Logan took a deep breath and calmed himself down. "Sorry" he muttered. "Look. There's this team of people looking to take down Jeremy. If you want in I'm sure they'd take on the help". Jacque hesitated. "How do I know if I can trust them?". It was a reasonable question. Luke understood his uncertainty. "I understand," he said. "Maybe I'll just bring one of them for you to meet and you can decide?" Jacque nodded slowly. "Don't worry," said Logan. "It'll be okay". And even though he said the words he knew there was no one Jacque could believe him. "I'll be back" and with that Logan set off to find Diana leaving Jacque behind.
