The photo I've added is what they wear towards the end of the chapter. You'll know when. xo

It's been a couple of days since Jacob and I had picked out a ring for my Mom. Jacob had asked me to help him plan out the proposal since it was also their anniversary. He was a sweet man, but still a man. He wanted to propose on their anniversary so that he'd never forget their anniversary, so.. yep, still a man.
"Don't worry, Dad! I'm almost done with class, then I'll get the guys to help me out with the place. You just make sure that Mom is ready and set at 7 because she takes forever to get ready, and don't forget to feed my kids!" I laughed.
"Okay, and thanks again, darling. I appreciate this." He said.
"Don't start, I'm gonna cry and I really don't want to." I groaned jokingly before hanging up. I threw my cigarette away and walked to Sikowitz' class.
"Hey." I greeted monotonously as I walked in and took a seat.
"Hello, Jake! Glad of you to join us." Sikowitz joked.
"Hi, honey. We're up next." Tori greeted, planting a kiss on my cheek that made my heart thump hard.
"Thanks, Beth." I responded with a smile. It's just for a couple of minutes, don't get too happy, my conscience sneered.
"And scene!" Robbie ended happily.
"Good Gandhi, that was... Next, we have Jade and Tori, or should I say Jake and Beth Peters?" Sikowitz called on us, and we both got up, taking one last glance at our scripts before getting up on the wooden stage. The stage lights practically blinded us from the audience, including our teacher and classmates, leaving me and Tori on our own.
"Alright, reminder, Jake and Beth Peters, you're both spies for the CIA that are on a mission to save the world from ending! 3, 2, 1, action!"
I got into the zone, and turned to Tori who pretended to be working on some mechanics, "The system's been compromised and the engines have failed. There's no way we can fix this without getting the system back online."
Tori turned to me with a determined yet concerned look on her face, "What about the tech team?"
"They've all been killed. At this point, we either accept our fate or go out there to fix it ourselves, but only an idiot would go during this apocalyptic space bullshit." I spat, acting really stressed.
"Listen to me, Jake," Tori came closer to me and grabbed me by my hands with a stern look on her face. "When we said our vows, we said I do to each other no matter what. That means through thick and thin, in sickness and in health and even if it wasn't specified, through potential world wide destruction or a happy ending. We've got a whole life a head of us, Jake.." She reached up to my cheek, cupping it with her warm touch that almost moved me.
"I-I know that, Beth.. But, I don't wanna lose you. I would go and fix those damn engines, and I would kill as many of those monsters, but I don't think I was ever prepared even to this moment to get a last look at you before possibly leaving forever. Betty, we belong together, even if the world is caving in." I explained, my voice cracking in pain and tears brimming in my eyes. My hands reached out to brush Tori's hair behind her ear and I looked at every single feature on her face before showing a bittersweet smile.
"I need to do this.. For us, and for our future. I love you, Jake." Tori muttered, leaning her forehead against mine, letting the tears fall from her eyes. We pulled away, our hands still holding on until it was too late and we had to let go.
"I love you, Beth." I cried out, watchimg Tori pretend to leave in a hurry. She rushed back quickly and pulled in close to me with one hand behind me head. We locked eyes for a split second, and her lips crashed on mine. The strong, but scattered cheers from our classmates were disappearing and it felt like we were truly alone on this stage. The feeling was truly indescribable, but it made me feel familiar things that brought a sense of warmth and love as well. The moment was cut short when Tori pulled away and called scene, making me follow along and bow beside her. I turned to see her eyes still glassy, but a smile harbored her face, making me doubt myself for the first time in so long.
"That was perfect! Jade, your tears were perfect, and Tori, you no longer sob like a monkey which is wonderful!" Sikowitz laughed, clapping a hand against his coconut.
"Thank you?" Tori asked before making her way down the stage. I followed suit and made sure to grab a tissue to wipe off the makeup that slightly smeared away. I hate this class. First, I get into 2 more arguments with Babe over this class after finding out I was paired with Tori and then my head seems to be all over the place with my invasive thoughts of Tori and I as well as Babe and I. This is a fucking mess.
Class ended an hour later, and I prepared my stuff along side my friends.. and Tori.
"Hey, guys. So, tonight, I'll need some help with setting up the place for my parents. I've got mostly everything we'd need, but I still need a bunch of fake rose petals, Beck's cameras and tiny candles." I declared, picking up my bag.
"Robbie and I can get the candles." Cat said with a smile before linking arms with Robbie.
"And we can get the rose petals and my cameras. " Beck helped, pointing at himself and Andre.
"Alright, which leaves Tori, Babe and I to set up the place. Don't forget to pass by your places to get your outfits for tonight." I commanded before making my way out with Tori.
"So, we gotta pass by our houses?" Tori asked as we walked out the building and unto the parking lot.
"That's what I said." I sang. We got to my car and strapped ourselves in before I connected my phone to my car and made a call to Babe.
"Helloo?" Babe sang through the phone.
"Hey, babe. You done with work? I just got in the car." I asked, driving out the parking lot.
"Yeah, I gotta get my outfit from home though. You wanna come by an--"
"Tori's in the car, too!" I yelled, trying to block out whatever Babe was gonna say because it definitely was not gonna end in 'hang out like two innocent people.'
"O-Oh. Tori's with you?" She asked awkwardly.
"Yep, she'll help us decorate the chateau." I drawled, coming unto a stop light. Tori and I shared awkward looks, before she turned away covering her mouth with her hand, trying to stifle a laugh. A smile tugged at the corners of my mouth at the situation, but in all fairness, Babe knows I always have my phone on speaker when I'm in the car.
"Okay. Well, I'm gonna go boil myself because this was awkward. I'll see you both when you get here." She muttered before ending the call.
Tori busted out laughing, causing me to giggle along with her.
"Shut up!" I said through my giggle fit.
"I'm sorry, but that was hilarious! I didn't mean to block." She laughed. We arrived at her house, and she quickly rushed in, getting her stuff. I turned to the passenger's side and saw that her phone had slipped out of her back pocket. What if I..? No! Oh God, I'm not even her girlfriend, I shouldn't-- ah, fuck it. I thought to myself before I grabbed her phone. I mean, if she never saw this, she'd never know, so technically, I'm not even on her phone. Wishing myself some luck, I attempted to type in her password and to my luck, it worked. Thank God Tori's never stopped believing in "Make It Shine" or else I wouldn't have gotten in.
Checking back, I noticed that she hasn't returned yet, so my snooping continued. Going through her photos, I cringed at the amount of selfies she had with Caleb. Don't get me wrong, he's a nice guy, but I don't like Tori with him. She honestly could do better. Seeing Tori has not returned yet, I went deeper and looked through her messages. Caleb and Tori were still new, so there weren't any deep and meaningful messages, but they did talk a lot, and it was almost puke-inducing. God damn simp..
I scrolled until I found a recent group message text between Tori, Cat and Andre. "You need to tell her..." Andre had typed out. Curiosity got the best of me, and I tapped on the group chat. I scrolled up and stopped once I saw my name.
