"Hi, Tori." I mumbled into the hug. She pulled away after a few seconds and looked me deep in the eyes with a smile before turning away to the rest of the group.
"So happy to see this reunion, but I gotta head to work. You gon' be okay, babe?" Sam asked Cat as she strapped on her helmet.
"Yeah, I'll probably be over Jade's later, I'll text you the address." Cat smiled. They both shared a small kiss before Sam rode off into the busy streets of New York. The doors opened and all the students started to pour into the building. A strapping woman in a power suit stayed still in the center of the room with her black-rimmed glasses resting on the bridge of her nose. She held a clipboard and looked at us with a strict glare.
"I'd like to welcome all of you to Julliard, school of fine arts. We happen to be one of the greatest schools in the world with such great methods than can get almost all of you to the top and get you to succeed and even surpass your ambitions and initial goals. With a 6% acceptance rate and 85% graduation rate, that must say something in your untrained brains. Here, you will learn everything that you will need to be a successful vocalist, or a breathtaking actor, maybe even an inspiring musician. There are other branches that have to do with composition and other technological studies.." She spoke, her voice booming through the large Hall. She turned and motioned for us to follow her.
"In here, you will not only learn how to surpass yourselves, but you will also learn how to control certain flaws, and how to do it right! Whether that is playing the piano right with the right hand structure to prevent you from getting injured, or learning how to sing from a C4 to an A7 without hurting your vocal chords, this is the place where you will either go with your fight or flight instinct."
The group and I exchanged looks of curiosity and slight fear, but continued the tour anyway."Oh man, thank God we're done." Tori sighed tiredly before slinging an arm around Beck and Andre's necks tiredly.
"Yeah, that woman scares me." Cat whimpered.
"Oh, come on, she wasn't scary. She's using scare tactics to get us to straighten out so we don't cause a fuss. She can kiss my ass." I shrugged as we walked out the building.
"Hey, wanna grab something to eat and catch up?" I asked, turning around to the others.
Everybody agreed, and eventually decided on Olive Garden. Since Sam left to work and my car was home, Cat and I got into Beck's car, seeing him here with a newer car.
"What happened to your old one?" I asked, stopping in front of a shiny black one.
"My Dad's bringing her in next week. This one belongs to the company I'm interning for. They let you use one of their cars to help you get to and back from work. It's also battery powered, so pretty good for the environment." Beck smiled, before getting in."So, how are things going with Sam?" I asked, lighting up a cigarette in the front seat.
"Good! Although, living together here has become difficult because she's working five times a week, and we can't really visit my Nonna too often as we used to." Cat responded, playing with a lock of her hair.
"Well, if you need help with anything you could always tell me," I suggested. "but don't tell anyone else I said that or else you'll wake up bald."
She squealed, giggling a bit, making me wonder if she understood hairless or naked, both making me feel quite uncomfortable and having Beck and I share concerned looks.
The music in the background was low and pretty fitting to the vibe and weather we were heaving. Won't Be Late by Swae Lee and Drake made us bop our heads, just vibing together until my phone interrupted us.
Unlocking my phone, I saw Babe's face and name on my screen. My thumb slid across the screen, then I put the phone on speakerphone.
"Hey, Babe."
"Hi, just taking a break. Hudson got his head stuck in the toilet again. What are you up to?" She asked, sounding quite bored.
"Well, I'm in Beck's car with Beck and Cat. My Dad dropped me off, so I don't have my car with me. Say hi." I said with a small smile on my face.
"Hi Babe!"
"Hi Babe!" They both loudly greeted, Cat the most excited out of both.
"Hey you guys!" Babe greeted back joyfully.
"Yeah, we're on our way to the Olive Garden." I mentioned.
"Who's going?" She asked. Oh shit.
"Uh, Beck, Cat, Andre, Robbie, Me..."
"And Tori! Don't forget Tori." Cat called out. I mentally screamed at myself before sighing.
"Wha- Tori's there?" Babe asked inquisitively.
"I mean.. Not here in the car with us, but yeah at Julliard." I slowly responded.
"I see. Okay, I'll be tired later so don't bother coming over tonight. I'll see you toImorrow."
"Wait, Babe!" Before I could explain, the call ended. A sigh escaped my lips as we pulled up at the parking lot.
"Are you okay?" Beck asked, placing a comforting hand on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know she had a problem with Tori." Cat apologized.
"It's fine, you guys. Let's just go." I shook my head. We got out the car and saw the others pull up right after us. Once they've all parked, they came out and pointed at he entrance. We headed over there, side by side, all of them talking animatedly; I, however, was staying quiet, trying to push Babe out of my mind.
