Tori and I ended back at my place after the wine. Ice and Midnight greeted us at the door with barking, meowing and a lot of rubbing up against our legs.
"Hello, my baby!" Tori smiled and began to play with Ice and pet Midnight.
"Tsk, haven't been home all day, I need to feed them and I guess I'll just let Ice go on the balcony." I sighed, hanging my jacket up by the door.
"You hungry?" I asked.
"Meh, not really. Where are your parents?" Tori asked, walking down the hallway with me and into the kitchen.
"They're in Alaska at a friend's. They've been celebrating their engagement with friends. They'll be back tomorrow though. Wanna watch a movie?" I asked.
"Sure! Can I take a shower first? I feel kinda icky." Tori cringed.
"Yeah, go ahead." I chuckled. "I'll order some pizza, is that alright or do you want something else?" I asked.
"Pizza sounds great!" Tori confirmed loudly, jogging up the stairs. I placed an order through my phone, and locked the front door before pouring some food into Ice and Midnight's bowls. The animals sat and happily chomped on their food before I pulled out the bottle of red wine we had bought from the Winery out of my bag. Wetting a paper towel and wrapping it around the bottle, I then placed it in the freezer and waited for it to get chilled.
Walking out to the living room, I had the blinds rolled up and the lights dimmed since the city lights were providing enough light for an atmospheric, chill vibe.
I turned on the large television and hit on Netflix, letting Friends play in the background as I walked back into the kitchen to get out some snacks in case Tori wanted to munch on something. Once everything was prepared, I paused the show and made my way up to my room. Tori had turned on the light, making it just bright enough for her to see, but making the room feel cozy and warm. I placed my bag on the floor by my bed, and  changed out of my clothes into some shorts and my Metallica hoodie. I tied my hair up into a pony tail before wiping away my makeup in front of my vanity. Once I was done, Tori had walked out the bathroom, naked.
"He-- WOAH! SHIT, I'M SO SORRY!" I quickly apologized, burying my face into my duvet, looking like an ostrich just standing straight up, with my head down into the covers.
"I'M SORRY, I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE IN HERE! FUCK! " Tori gasped, and rustled around to presumably find her towel to cover up.
"A-Are you covered?!" I asked, the duvet muffling my voice.
"Yes!" She breathed out.
I got up and slowly turned back around to be sure. She had hastily covered herself with the towel that it looked like it was gonna come undone any time soon.
"S-Sorry. I just wanted to change into my pajamas." I muttered.
"Yeah, no worries. I didn't, you know, hear you come in." Tori chuckled awkwardly. We sat there, staring at each other for a few seconds, images of her body popping into my mind every few seconds before the door bell broke the silence., indicating that the doorman was letting us know we had a visitor.
"Right, the pizza is here. I'll to get it." I quickly got up and grabbed my wallet before running out the room and down the stairs. I ran up to the elevator and waited for the delivery man to appear. The elevator pinged as soon  as it got to our floor, and through the somewhat clear glass, I saw the colours of Domino's Pizza on the delivery guy. I unlocked the door, and saw the bored, delivery man holding our orders.
"Hello, order from Domino's for Jade West?" He asked, barely living at this point.
"Yeah. Thanks." I responded slowly, my brows furrowed. I took the pizza boxes and set them down by the door before I took out the money with a tip and handed it to him.
"Thank you for ordering. Enjoy your meal." He sighed before pressing the button to go down. I shut the door and locked it before he started to go down. I took the pizzas and walked into the living room, placing them on the coffee table.
Tori had come down in the usual Slipknot shirt she wears when she's here, and a pair of my shorts.
"Looking good, Vega." I smirked, taking a seat on the couch. Tori shook her head, suppressing a smile and took a seat next to me.
"This smells really good." She breathed out.
"Yep. I got us a large pepperoni pizza, and a soufflé we can share as well and some of these chicken wings." I opened up the boxes, revealing the delicious food. I got up and ran to the kitchen, grabbing the chilled bottle of wine and a couple of glasses.
"Let's not forget about this." I placed the bottle on the table as well as the glasses beside before pouring some in the glasses for us.
"Thank you. So, what do you wanna watch?" Tori asked, grabbing the remote.
"Should we watch Five Feet Apart?"
"Let's do it." Tori played the movie, and we sat side by side with our legs crossed, enjoying our pizzas while sipping on the wine we got. As the movie played, I couldn't help but think about her body and how I accidentally saw something I shouldn't have. It's not like I haven't seen it, but.. I shook the thoughts from my head and continued to watch the movie. Once Ice and Midnight were done eating, they both walked into the living room and hopped in the couch with us. Midnight sat in my arm rest and laid comfortably, not giving a shit that I couldn't rest my arm there anymore. Ice flopped on to the couch and laid on Tori, forcing her to scootch closer to me. We both shared a look before giggling awkwardly and just sitting still, watching the movie. We finished the remaining pizza in silence as we watched the movie. Tori decided to lean on me, giving in to Ice's heavy weight that he was putting on her. Instinctively, my arm went up, letting her fell between the couch and my torso. Resting my arm around her, we both felt the awkwardness rise, but decided to not say anything to break the silence that was somehow comforting, only being broken by the movie.
I missed this. This was something Babe and I never experienced. It was always sex, and fire that would burn either one of us, if not both. I know that I just got out of a relationship that hurt me, and I wasn't looking to get into another relationship any time soon, but this reminded me of what I was looking for in a relationship. The mess between Babe and I and her issue for Tori got me so fucked up that I completely forgot my goals.
"This is nice." I muttered.
"I'm sorry, Ice is just heavy, but I can get off." Tori apologised.
"No, it's fine. I wasn't being sarcastic." I rolled my eyes.
"I can't believe you when you roll your eyes at me, you know." She chuckled.
"Well, don't believe me, but I wasn't being sarcastic." I rolled my eyes again, intentionally. Tori then took her pizza slice and slapped me with it, leaving small streaks of sauce across my cheek. My jaw dropped in shock as I've never been pizza-slapped before.
"Excuse me, Vega! What did you just do?"I laughed, shock still in me.
"Oops!" I grabbed a slice of pizza and planted it on her face, before placing it back in the box.
"Jade, what the fuck?" Tori laughed, before tackling me to the floor and wiping her face on my hoodie. We both got over our laughing fit before realising our position. I hadn't realised before this how long her hair had gotten, and how mature she looked compared to when she came to Hollywood Arts. Even without makeup she looked beautiful.
"I- Sorry." Tori chuckled before getting up and extending an arm out to help me. I swatted her arm away with a smirk and got up.
"Don't touch me." I laughed before turning the television off. "Help me clean up?"
"Don't tell me what to do." Tori mocked before actually helping me throw away the pizza boxes and putting away the glasses of wine.
"So, how do you feel now?" She asked, picking Midnight up into a hug as I loaded up the dishwasher.
"What do you mean?"
"You know, with the whole Babe thing." She specified quietly.
"Honestly, it hurt. Because I trusted her, and I really liked her, and I thought it could've blossomed into something more serious, but it seemed like that wasn't something she wanted." I sighed, closing the dishwasher and turning it on.
"What did she do?" She asked, holding on to Midnight who was relaxed in her arms.
I thought for a moment on how to respond to that question, but realised that there was no way I would get back together with Babe, and that we've reached a point where I cannot defend her any longer.
"She was cheating on me for a while now with her ex and I found out through her butt dialing me." I deadpanned.
Tori and I sat in silence for a bit as I closed the lights in the kitchen. We both made our way up the stairs to my room with Ice behind our feet and Midnight in her arms.
"Hey, I just wanted to apologise." Tori spoke up once I shut the door to my room.
"About what?" I asked cautiously.
"A-About what happened during the New Year's party." She breathed out.
"Right."I monotonously answered, remembering what I saw, what she said to Cat and Andre and what I felt.
"You might not believe me, but the truth is, I wasn't cheating on you with him. I was cheating on him with you and it's a bit more complicated than how I'm explaining it now, but basically I was in a really tough position when I was with my ex and he made me do things I didn't want to do, and when you and I started, I felt everything I was supposed to in a relationship and in a way you helped me, but I just wanted you to know because I didn't want you living your life hating me without the right facts first." Tori explained, putting Midnight down and sitting at the end of my bed. I sat next to her and nodded quietly.
"I believe you."
"You do?" She asked shockingly.
"Yes, I do. And, for the record, I don't hate you. Much."I chuckled. Tori just rolled her eyes, but waited for me to continue anyway. "I just don't understand why you never told me, and how did I help you?"
"I felt like it was never a good time to tell you, we were always busy or things seemed great between us, and whatnot, but then I realised that there would never be a good time to tell you something like that, so I might as well tell you as soon as we got a chance to talk, just the two of us." I nodded and decided to smile at this girl because I know that it took a lot of guts for her to be honest with me like this and be prepared to potentially lose me as a friend.
"Thank you for telling me, any way." I smiled.
"Of course. Also, you helped me because if it hadn't been for such a beautiful relationship with you, I wouldn't be able to move on and meet Caleb."
"Oh right. How are things going with that idiot?"I asked, leaning back on my bed against Ice who just sat like a statue, waiting for us to lay down.
"It's great. He's great. Everything is clear between us, he knows about you and I and he trusts me, and he knows that you and I have been through a lot. He's also really caring and really sweet. My mom really likes him." Tori smiled, practically gushing at this point.
"Does he take care of you?"I asked, turning my head to her now that she flopped on her back, laying beside me.
"Yeah, he does." She answered with a smile.
"Good." I responded, revealing a small smile. We stayed there for a while, the comfortable silence making it seem like we were in our own little bubble. I studied her face and how small changes were made as she got older, and how much of a pretty smile she's always had. Her perfume lingered around, with hints of pear and caramel that made my dopamine levels increase. I'm pretty sure my clothes would have her scent by now.
She turned to her side, completely facing me now and we both just laid there, enjoying each other's presence like it was the most normal thing in the world, but in that moment, I felt peace - something I haven't felt in a long time.
