Wednesday Night

Piper's POV

The duet.

That's the whole reason I wanted to talk to him in the first place!

I have to ask him.

I have to ask him today. If he says no, I don't know what I'll do. I can't imagine dancing with anyone else.

I open my phone and click his name.

Before the second ring, I hear his voice.

'Hey, Pipes!'

'Hey Finn! I have to ask you something...', I start.

Finn's POV

'Ok...', I say, a little apprehensive.

'Calm down, it's nothing bad!', Piper laughs.

'Ok, what is it?', I ask impatiently.

'Will you be my duet partner for nationals?', she asks.

'Oh', I reply. 'Um...'

'Oh, ah, it's... fine if you don't want to', Piper starts. 'I just, um... I j-just', she stutters. 'I just thought that since-'

'Piper, of course I want to be your duet partner!', I cheer.

Piper exhales deeply.

'Finn!', she scoffs playfully. Why'd you have to do that!'

'Sorry', I reply, chuckling.

'You're so much like my brother sometimes', Piper laughs.

Piper's POV

My brother.

My brother doesn't know that Finn and I are going to go on a date.

He'll go mental when he finds out.

If he finds out.

I'll deal with that later.

'Anyway, I should let you go', I say. 'See you tomorrow.'

'Yeah, see ya!', he replies, before the call cuts off.

Finn's POV

Piper told me she likes me. She finally said yes. I'm going on a date with her.

I'll be featured on the national stage with the girl of my dreams.

This day couldn't get any better!

Piper's POV

I wonder where Finn will take me on our date.

I look at the line again.

What the heck will I wear?

It's ok, I'm shopping with Amy tomorrow.
