Outside the cabin

Dani's POV:

Just as we are about ready to leave, Hulu calls me, so I turn my attention in his direction. He gestures over his shoulder, and I look past him as the others do too and start talking quietly amongst themselves in whispers. There, zipping from tree to tree is a blurry figure. It's a person. They zip to the tree closest to us panting with blood running from their mouth and bruises on their face. It's a young girl with short light brownhair and hazelnut eyes, and she is visibly shaking. I'm gonna guess she's a vampire...

I hear Fionn and Ethan growl and see them put their hands on their bags over their knives, as Fionn asks "Can I be the one to kill it?" while smirking. I hiss at them both. "Stand down, now. She is a vampire who is alone and hurt. I will soon be the queen of ALL supernatural species, not just werewolves. I will not betray my people, and that includes her, even if my throne hasn't been secured yet. You will not harm her" I seethe, Kayla adding power behind my words, just enough to make the group tremble. I take a deep breath and watch as the young vampire turns her back to the tree, sliding down to the ground with her knees at her chest, sobbing.

I slowly step out of the invisibility and soundproof barrier Erin put around the cabin with both hands raised; to show I'm not a threat. The girl shrieks in surprise of my sudden appearance and I can't blame her. She shoots up and stumbles back, clearly terrified, wiping her tear-stained cheeks. "How- how did you just-" she stutters in fear. "Okay, deep breathes, I mean you no harm, I'm here to help you. Now if you tell me what I want to know, I will explain how I just appeared to you..." I say quietly. She nods hesitantly, lost for words. "What's your name love?" I ask softly. "Um.." she looks understandably hesitant, looking around as if wanting to escape. "It's okay, you can trust me, I am no threat to you I promise. I'm gonna keep my hands right in front of me where you can see them alright?" I coax. "My..my name is Lexi..Lee, but everyone just calls me Lex..." the corners of her mouth twitch.

"Well hi Lex, I'm Dani. I'm a hybrid and I'm the rightful supernatural queen. I want peace between all species and for us all to cohabitate in harmony. Behind me is a witch's cabin. Her name is Erin and with her, is my wolf pack. We are currently a small group, but I rescued them from a corrupt leader of these lands, Edgar, and two of the members escaped from my old pack with me a week or so ago...from my father. I don't know what has happened to you, but I hate the thought of you out here on your own in the cold, especially when you are injured. Please Lex, come with me. I will bring you through the barrier which conceals the cabin and introduce you to everyone. I love the people under my care, no matter what they are so you are more than welcome. I promise you will be safe. No one will harm you, you have my word." I speak gently, trying not to scare her off.

"You're a hybrid too?" she whispers in shock as her eyes flash between green and brown showing it isn't just her but her I'm speaking to vamp too. "Wait-you're a hybrid? What kind? You're obviously part vampire but what species is your other half?" I ask, surprised. "Fairy, I'm a Fairy healer. I was outcast from my herd when my vampire surfaced. I had disgraced my family, I'm a freak! When my vampire awoke she was hungry, out of control. She fed on and killed a little wolf boy about twenty or thirty miles that way" she points behind her...in the general direction of my father's pack lands. I slowly close the distance between us and hug her gently. I have to bend down to do so as she is only 4ft 6" or something like that. "You poor thing, I'll teach you how to control those impulses, or find someone to help me teach you. Don't you worry about your family, I'll work on them. When I take the throne, I will bring you to meet with your parents under my protection to try to clear the air. No matter what happens, you will always have a home in my pack."

She wraps her arms around me after a moment of uncertainty just before I pull back. "How old are you Lex?" I realize that I have no clue of her age because she is part fairy, meaning she is probably a lot older than I first thought based on her appearance. "I'm 27, but I'm a baby in fairy terms" she giggles, wiping at her constant running tears. The poor thing is traumatized, and it makes me anxious at the thought of when my vampire comes out again...will I feed on someone I love?! I push that scary thought away and reach out my hand to Lex, looking to her expectantly over my shoulder, facing the cabin. She slowly places her hand in mine as we walk. Once we walk through the barrier, we both gasp in surprise because the pack is standing so close to the barrier they are practically in front of our faces, and it's obvious they had heard every word. Lexi gasps because of the magic though it couldn't have been that unbelievable considering she grew up with fairies and is half fairy herself...
