Dani's POV:

Hulu and I make our way up to the third floor of the pack house, and on the way, I ask him what he thinks of the prisoners I selected to take with us. "So, what do you think of the group I selected? I want to hear your honest opinion Lu." he thinks to himself for a moment before responding. "I think, they were all imprisoned for a range of different reasons, some more valid than others, and some not valid at all" I nod for him to continue when he gives me a hesitant look.

"Some of them may be lost causes but we won't know until we give them a chance to prove themselves. Others, with a mix of time, kindness, nutrition and training, could become good, if not great fighters. There are some strong characters in that group beneath the fear and trauma that I believe can blossom in the right environment. That brute, Mikey, could be a great asset if we can get him in check. He clearly has anger issues and is very defensive. Though I think it is it a trauma response or his way of masking his emotions when he feels threatened. By the looks of him, he already has some level of fighting experience and training but is a hot head who clearly loses his temper easily." I agree with him, Mikey is gonna be difficult to rein in...

"The young girl we first took out, Natasha, she seems like the bookworm type. I think she would be a great architect or strategist with some training. She is very shy, but I get the impression that her shyness isn't her nature but rather a result of being locked up here for the last three years. And as for the fourteen-year-old boy, Hunter, he is physically very weak and small, but he doesn't have his wolf yet and seems like a kind soul. With some time, physical routine and after getting his wolf, in the coming months, he should bulk up a lot and become more confident in himself. I think he would be a good tracker."

I mull over his little speech as we reach the main corridor of the third floor which was long enough, the door at end looking tiny among the row of doors along each side of the corridor. "You've given me much to consider Hulu, thank you. I truly appreciate your honesty. I want you to be my personal advisor from here on out. Permanently. Will you take on the role as my advisor permanently Lu?" he smiles at my words. "Of course Alpha, it would be my honor." He bows slightly, his wolf surfacing for authenticity and I laugh, pulling him into a sudden embrace, which catches him of guard, making him stumble slightly.

We pull back out of the hug and laugh, smiling at each other. Hulu and Bree are the only two males in this world I trust fully. So, I like to take these private moments to show that. It takes another five minutes or so of us linking about the group as the halls become busier until we approach a guard standing outside Timothy's office at the end of the corridor. He was one of the guards who were at the border, I remember him as practically the only one who'd been more impressed than angry. He may not have known what my intentions were but he seemed to be the only one who picked up on the fact that I meant his pack or Alpha no harm and was only displaying my strength. He respected my natural skill. I decide I'd like to at least know who he is so I send a link to him, speaking straight into his mind. He was automatically open to it because he didn't expect it at all so his mental guard was down, as most people are.

He jumped slightly as he heard my voice in his head, his wolf making himself known in the link too from what I sense is curiosity. 'Hi there, I'm Alpha Brown. I'm here with my advisor to speak with Alpha Timothy. He is expecting me, but first, what is your name and rank? You had a unique reaction to my initial show of strength even though I am a stranger.' I tilt my head slightly in a questioning manner. Hulu looks between us with a brief moment of confusion since we had stopped and there was silence. It didn't take long for him to register that I am linking with the guard. The guard pauses for a moment before responding to my link.

'Alpha Brown, it is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Adrian. I am Alpha Timothy's personal...watcher you might say. And yes, my wolf could tell your intentions while unknown, were pure and we were both impressed with earlier's display, though we do not think any less of our Alpha for losing to you as you clearly have some unmatched power and we can sense that you are not a full wolf.' His unasked question hangs in the air between us. What are you? 'Hi Adrian, I'm guys by watcher, you mean a cross between an assistant and his eyes and ears around the pack and at events?' He smiles, seeming surprised by my guess, 'Yes Alpha, that's right. My job is to blend in and gather intel when needed as well as helping Alpha Timothy carry out his more mundane tasks and responsibilities.'

'Well, I am happy to meet you Adrian and you and your wolf are right, I am not full wolf.' I wink at him with a smile, gesturing to timothy's office. He nods and bows his head in submission before knocking and calling through the door. After a moment Timothy calls back for Adrian to let us in. He opens the door, letting us through, before closing it behind us. "Alpha Timothy" I nod. "Alpha Brown, please take a seat." he points to a small two-seater across from the one Lexi is sitting on. "Thank you Timothy, and by the way, this is Hulu, my personal advisor, and good friend." Hulu quickly stands up, bowing his head before putting out his hand.

Timothy huffs in acknowledgement, taking his hand in a strong, manly shake. Once they both take their seats again, Timothy speaks up. "I've had a lovely conversation with Lexi here since I left you with my guards. She speaks very highly of you as a person and as an alpha, though she also says there's a lot more to you and your power than that. I need to know how you got Darren to submit to your wolf so easily Dani." Taking a deep breath, I give him the briefest answer possible.

"I am an alpha, but I am also the rightful queen of the supernatural world, hence why I'm probably the first to ever make your wolf submit. It's also why my wolf sports the glowing crescent moon; it means I was hand chosen by the moon goddess herself. So, I guess you could say I am everyone's superior, wolf of not. It will be a while until I can safely take the throne, as I need to grow my pack, make allies where I can, rescue my Beta and take down my father first. I know I'm not what you would expect in an Alpha, not just because of my gender but because of my age."

Timothy leans back in his chair and stares at me in silence for a moment and I can see Hulu's posture turn sullen at the mention of Bree's name. The tension is so thick, Lexi tries to break it by clearing her throat. It seems to snap him out of his trance, and he quickly leans forward, putting his arms on the desk. "Okay"

I glance at Lexi in confusion. "Okay? You don't have any questions?" I ask surprised. "Sure I do Dani, but if you wanted to give me more information you would have. You and your pack have shown nothing but respect and you are incredibly strong. You have my respect, that's all that matters right now." I smile. "Thank you Timothy, that means a lot. Do you have the paperwork?" his eyes cloud over for a moment as he links someone. After a minute or so, there's a knock on the door. "Come in" he calls. A young teenage boy runs in with a small stack of papers. He gently drops them on the desk before bowing to Timothy and leaving. So we get down to business, combing out the finer details of the contract. If either pack were under attack or went to war, they could call upon the other for assistance, though the other pack would not be obligated to assist unless they were in the area at the time, within 350 miles.

Once we are done and have the contract signed, Timothy informs me that he plans to send us off with four voluntary fighters who want to join our pack. It's a very kind gesture and one I will remember in the future. He then insists we stay overnight and decides to host a dinner to celebrate our new alliance. After sending Hulu and Lexi to gather the rest of the pack for dinner, leaving the group of ex-prisoners with Timothy's guards, I have one last favor to ask of him and decide to use his title again after his kindness.

"Alpha Timothy, is there any chance you would be willing to help me with a member of my pack? His name is Fionn. He is the quietest of my group and for the last week or so has been acting shady as hell. My best friend and Beta, Bree was abducted five days ago and three days ago, Hulu followed Fionn and discovered he is responsible for Bree's disappearance and has been torturing him, having some other rogues do so for him when he is with us." I tear up at the thought. "I don't know why he is doing this, and I would deal with him myself, but I fear it would make some of the others feel unsafe or even worse, directly put them in danger right now. We haven't let on that we know what he is up to, but I need to know why. If I come up with an excuse to separate him from the pack, could you put him in a cell and try to extract the information I need?" He looks surprised at my request but quickly responds, understanding the gravity of the situation.

"Leave it to me Alpha Brown. I'll get what you need. Do you want him alive or dead at the end?" I sigh. "I don't care. He is directly responsible for continuously harming my best friend, he gets no sympathy or mercy from me. He is a sick bastard who is good at wearing a disguise, so do what you please with him. But if you do decide to rid this world of him, make it slow and painful. I have had enough violence for one day. Before we leave, after he is locked up, I will confront him, but for now, let's go enjoy a delicious dinner to celebrate our new alliance and friendship." I smile and Timothy agrees as I wipe the couple tears I hadn't realized had fallen. He gives me a soft smile and walks me out of his office as we join the others downstairs to eat.
