Pack-land border;

Timothy's POV:

She lifts her left eyebrow, giving me a smug smirk. It seriously pisses me off. I'm going to destroy this little bitch who calls herself an "alpha". Like just who does she think she is? Coming onto my land, getting hostile with my guards and I? Smugly accepting my proposed challenge with unexpected confidence. Like really who is she? Her group is tiny and I can't pick up the scent of any other wolves nearby, yet she figures it so easy to beat me and has a lot of confidence in the strength and skills of her so-called pack. This really is a first for us...

I take the first step towards her before shifting into my wolf Darren, who has chestnut brown fur and dark chocolate eyes, with black streaks on his paws. He and I become co-conscious, meaning I know exactly what is happening and I can advise him on how we should proceed. The girl smiles at us before she takes a deep breath and shifts into her wolf in response. After her bones finish rearranging themselves, a black wolf lands on all four paws in front of us, or should I say slightly above us.

We have to tilt our head upward a little to make eye contact with her. She is about three inches taller than Darren; her teeth are sharper than his and her gaze is piercing. Then we notice a glowing crescent moon on her forehead, making our resolve falter slightly. 'Uh oh...she is something alright...' I say to Darren, to which he responds, 'I know an alpha when I smell one and she is an alpha Tim, but what I don't understand is how we couldn't tell that just minutes ago...' I exhale harshly, growing irritated by this unusual situation. 'Yeah, that is strange...' I reply, feeling wary of her.

We growl loudly, pawing at the earth with our claws, but she just growls back ferociously, sounding bloodthirsty. Darren's eyes widen slightly, and he subconsciously takes a half step backward, feeling a slight power shift that makes both of us feel a tad anxious. It's like a change in the air around us which makes our hackles raise a bit feeling unexplainably uneasy. This makes the edges of her mouth lift in a sly smirk. She is confident in her abilities, that much is obvious. "I will give you one last chance to surrender..." her words float into the environment around us. "Not a chance!" We bite back, trying to show more confidence than we currently have. Her wolf nods slightly with a smirk before lunging straight at us.

We jump to the right in an attempt to dodge the impact, but we don't quite make it out of her reach in time and she manages to collide with our shoulder, sending us spinning. It takes a lot of strength, energy and speed to stay on our feet. Growling angrily as we spin around to face her, we begin to circle her wolf, looking for weak spots. When she jumps at us again head on, we swipe our paw at the last moment, slicing her underbelly, as she knocks us down to the ground.

We scurry back to our feet to see her notice the blood seeping into her pitch-black fur before looking at us with a deadly glint in her eyes. Even Darren doesn't look quite that scary when in a rage and looking for blood, but the look she is giving us is like she wants to crunch our bones and eat them for dinner or tear us apart until we are unrecognizable. She is truly one scary bitch.

Trying not to let our fear show, we circle her again, snapping our teeth at her but only catching fur, frustrating us further. We watch carefully as she turns back to us, preparing to attack again. This time when we dodge to the left, she is more prepared, snapping her sharp teeth to the side, catching us in our right hind leg. We cry out as they sink deep into our flesh, and she drags us towards her like a ragdoll.

Without even a moment to react when she releases us, she sinks her teeth into our midsection tearing open our flesh. She picks us up into her mouth, lifting her head high so we are just dangling from her jaw. I feel another power shift in the air and see her eyes glowing, Darren submitting almost immediately in response. I'm in shock, how can she physically carry us like this, we are an alpha after all, not some pup! We are huge, yet somehow, she is bigger and very clearly stronger.

How the goddess did she get Darren to submit?! And what exactly does she want in return for humiliating us like this? I feel a wave of anxiety wash over me at the troubling question, this could have some serious consequences within the pack and to my position as Alpha. My mind races, our head throbs and blood seeps into our brown fur as she walks back to the others, with us hanging limply from her mouth.

My men start shifting into their human forms when they see me like this, but I signal them not to do anything by defeatedly shaking my head and growling a 'Don't, stand down' through the pack link, giving them no choice but to obey the order. This is humiliating enough, and a deal is a deal, whatever she wants us to help her do, we are going to have to oblige.

'I'm reluctantly impressed, she's good. Like REALLY good, and she is scary as hell. Who the fuck is she?!' Darren hisses through the pain, me nodding in agreement, with a mumbled 'I have no bloody idea, but we need to find out' Everything stops moving and my eyes flit open again. I'm growing weak from the blood loss at this point. Her breathing slows and she leans forward, gently releasing her grip on our midsection, which immediately starts pooling with blood, our hind leg pumping too. She places us in front of our guards and her pack.

My breathing is shallow but I shift, with much difficult, as one of my men throws a shirt over my back and I lie weakly on the ground, Darren fading into the background due to our weak state, leaving me in full control again. I hear her shift back too and soon; I hear her voice. "Lexi, can you heal his wounds?" Another feminine voice which I assume belongs to Lexi answers her. "Not completely, I'm not strong enough but I will do my best. Though he will probably still have a bit of a limp for a few days, will need compression bandages around his torso for at least a week and maybe some antibiotics and painkillers to prevent infection too." I feel someone's presence and there's a weird ripping sound as my head is gently lifted and something wet is brought to my lips.

"Drink...it will help you heal" the girl says. I don't reply but allow the metallic liquid to trickle past my dry cracked lips. I almost gag at the vile, rotten taste, but supress the instinct and swallow. I open my eyes a little as the young girl comes into view and she retracts her bleeding wrist from my mouth. My pain begins to dull and my thinking becomes much clearer as my flesh begins sewing itself back together like a strange type of patchwork. I slip the shirt on over my head and then realize what she is. I gasp in fury, standing up to confront her.

"You're a deceiving bloodsucking vamp!" I all but scream pointing at her, causing her to take an instinctual step back and look down in a mix of shame and fear. I go to take a furious step towards her when this female 'alpha' steps in front of me. "Yes Timothy, Lexi here IS a vampire, and yet she is the only reason you are standing and not fading closer to death right now, so if I were you? I would be thanking her for saving your life, and show some damn gratitude for the fact that I didn't tear you to pieces, letting you live..." I bite my tongue, mulling over her words, before nodding, lowering my clenched fists at my sides. "I'm sorry" I mumble. This, whatever she is, is right, as much as I hate to admit it.

She could have torn me to shreds and it was clear she had wanted to, but she didn't and this vampire, as much as I hate the idea, may be the only reason my men and my pack aren't arranging to bury me right now...
