Chapter 29; Lexi:

Lexi's POV:

I wipe the tears from my wet cheeks as the girl holds out her hand to me, looking over her right shoulder, her expression soft. I take her hand and I look up at her, nervous. We walk through something, and it feels icy cold on my skin. I shudder slightly at the odd sensation. A split second later, we are in front of a group of people who I assume are the wolves Dani mentioned and there, right behind them, is the witch's cabin. I step slightly closer to Dani, scared. She introduces me to everyone and then a minute later she speaks loudly. "Right, chop chop guys, gather your bits and pieces. We are leaving" she turns to the witch.

"Thank you so much for all your help Erin. We will get out of your hair now. We are going to prepare and make a plan for rescuing Bree." Turning back to us she says, "I have made a permanent link with Erin and because she has a supply of my blood she will be able to keep a rough tracking of Bree's movements when I need an update." Who is Bree? Is he the other wolf she escaped with her that isn't here? If we have to rescue him then that means he has been hurt or taken against his will. I guess its straight to business with her. She has a powerful aura and all these wolves clearly respect her and take her very seriously, which is unusual with her being a girl and all.

Though I get a strange vibe of one of the wolves in her pack. He is the quietest of the group, Fionn I think is his name, and when he reluctantly shook my hand, it was oddly cold to the touch. I smile at my observations, she must be one tough, powerful girl. "We will go to a cave Erin mentioned to me a mile west of here and settle down for the night. Tomorrow, we will plan and prepare to find and rescue Bree. As I have said before, in order to efficiently rescue Bree and get out alive, we need more manpower. Meaning, we will be taking in other wolves from packs, I will deal with all that, but tomorrow, our pack grows." She speaks passionately, making it obvious how much she cares for this person. The entire group listens silently as she speaks, nodding when she's done. I stick close to the intimidating yet gentle girl as I feel quite out of place and feel more vary of these other wolves than her for some reason.

In the Cave the Next day:

Hulu's POV:

It's strange being around a vampire and not trying to kill each other but I respect Alpha Brown for what she is doing. To be honest, I really admire how fast she has decided to embrace the other supernatural species of our world. She doesn't realize how much she is acting like a queen already, even though her title is yet to become official. It is nice to be around another species without chaos and bloodshed, though Ethan and Fionn, clearly dislike or hate the idea. The Alpha picked up on their desire to hurt Lex and has protectively kept her close to her. It's late, so we go to sleep but I stir an hour or so later to the sound of some shuffling. I slowly open one eye and spot Fionn smiling unnervingly, sneaking out of the cave. When I think it's safe to move, I get up and realize Alpha Brown saw him leave too. She is clearly concerned and stressed. She is frowning at his retreating form, deep in thought, Kayla also present. I bend down beside her. "Alpha, will I follow him and see what he is up to?" I ask.

She looks hesitant but nods. She links me as I stand up, dusting off my pants. I open up the link to her. 'Use your wolf if you need to. I have learned a lot from and have been given a lot by Erin. One of the things she taught me is how to pass some of my strength onto another. She explained how when this is done, there is a clock on the borrowing of power and it allows me to keep a constant link open with that person no matter how far away they are. She also mentioned that doing this could possibly let me see through the eyes of the person I lent some of my strength and power to, though she said if possible, that part would take practice. I don't know what the hell Fionn is up to Hulu but you will most likely need to be faster than usual so hold my hand' I hurriedly give her my hand and she holds it in both of hers, eyes closed. She whispers a spell of some sort, and a faint pink light encases her arms before fading and slowly wrapping around mine. I can feel her power seeping into me. It feels so strange yet amazing. She lets my hand go and puts her hand on my shoulder looking me in the eye.

'All you need to do is whisper the word 'lathos' when you need to tap into my speed or power. I have connected us, so you be able to link me from a distance and I will be able to feed you with my power if needed. But it will only last for three hours Hulu, so you need to be fairly quick. Remember, your scent is dampened by the potion, and you have your weapons, if you need to, use them. You won't be detected with the potion in your veins but still, be stealthy okay. Now go and be careful my friend, we will be okay here, I promise' she says encouragingly. I am amazed at this young woman's powers, they are just epic, but I can't focus on that right now. I stand up, nod in determination, and run out of the cave, sending a quick goodbye to her through the link, before jumping off the ledge, rolling as I land. I get straight up and break into a sprint as I see Fionn's dark figure disappear through the trees...
