Chapter 52

"Mamaaaa" Jamera ran to give me the warmest hug.
"How are you princess?" I showered her face with kisses.
"I'm fine" I picked her up from the ground and straddled her around my waist.
She stretched her arms openly so Jayden would take her from me. I suddenly felt jealous. Is this how it's going to be when he finds out that Jah is his daughter? I'm going to share her love with her father? Well that's not a bad thing, you'll get used to it. The tiny voice made a point and I felt relaxed.
"I've  missed you" Jamera pecked Jayden's cheek. I saw the excitement in his eyes. He needs no visa to gain Jamera's love when she finds out that he's her long lost dad.
"I missed you more my sweet little girl."  Jayden supported Jamera with his other hand and held mine with his free hand.

"Wow" I admired the ghetto wine and dine.
"This place is the most expensive place in this area. Only the big bosses around here can afford to buy food here." Jayden informed.
"I see." I laughed in my head. I dare not laugh louder else the stares that I'm going to get won't be good.

"Good afternoon, I'm Jayden. I reserved a table here earlier"
"No need to introduction sir, I know who you are" the waitress in hot red lipstick smiled at him. Jayden played along.
"Number seven is your table and it's the one at the far end." Won't she stop smiling.  I'm getting annoyed already. No, you're jealous of the attention he's getting from her. I'm not jealous. The boy is mine. I smiled back at her when she finally noticed my existence.
Jayden walked us to our table and pulled it for me to sit down.

"Princess you'll sit by me. Right here"

he put Jamera on the chair next to him. We sat facing each other.
"Tell me your first impression of the place."
"Let me taste their food first." I said.
"It's like someone is having a bad mood" he smiled. "That leaves me with Jamera then" he started talking to Jah and making her laugh with one of his thousand jokes. He sure plays his dada role effortlessly.
I picked my phone from my bag to check my messages. I sighed when I saw seven messages from Rita.

1. Why are you not coming to work today?
2. I hope you're fine?
3. I'm tired of replying your mails. Can you get here already?

I laughed. My laughter drew Jayden's attention. It's like he's interested in what's keeping me company while he's lost in the moment with his daughter. Whoever told her that she can go through my mails?  That girl needs ten days intensive training on how to be a proper P.A

4. I have gist for you why aren't you coming to work? Gist I more sweeter when we're face to face.

I'm now dying to know what the gist is about.

"Gist me"  I replied her and waited patiently for her to reply. Jayden is now feeding Jamera with a lobster. When did the food arrive at the table? He gave me a look that tells that he wants to know what I'm up to but I gave him an unperturbed shrug. He raised his brow to intimidate me but I'm still in my stan un intimidated. My message tone came in and I ignored him to reply.

"Finally! where have you been?"

"I suppose where have I been isn't the gist you so badly wanted to tell me?" I replied her.

"Larry called me late last night! It took a lot of energy for.me to control myself from calling you to scream the excitement in your ears."  I giggled and fluttered my brows to see what Jayden is up to.

"I'm waiting for you so we can eat together." He said in a soft tone.

"Okay" I said and went back to my text.

"He called this morning asking if I can make it to dinner with him"

"And what did you say?"

"Girl you know the answer already. Do you have to ask. I said Yes!"

"I'm happy for you girl but I have to go now. There's a bear waiting to devour me."

"Bear? That sounds like you are with a man. Another gist is Mr.Kudjoe didn't come to work too. Isn't it weird that the day that you skipped work, he also didn't show up? It's strange of him to skip work  unless he's on a business trip."
I rolled my eyes. She's just a talkative.

"Just shut up alright? Laters"

"Okay. Bye but I'll hunt you down to tell me everything I missed"  I laughed. Rita and gisting are like five and six.

"Mama the food was so nice" Jamera chirped.
"Really?"
"Yeah" why's she smiling like her daddy?
"Let's see" I picked my fork and I watched as Jayden did same. I took my first bite and I wasn't expecting to taste such a delicious food at a place like this. The meal is a life saver and a mood changer. Was waiting for Jayden to ask what I think about the food but he didn't so we enjoyed our meal in silence.

The waitress cleared our table.

"Desert will be here shortly." She said and swayed her bony hips off. I laughed at how unsexy it is to watch her go. I'm sure Jayden noticed me laughing at her because it made him break his silence.

"That's some fine ass she's got" he said and we burst out laughing together.
"I'd have killed you any day if you have said that about any other girl in front of me but I'll let this one pass since we are reading from the same page."

"Who were you chatting?" He mood turned serious.
"Nothing important"
"Okay" he faked a smile.
"Stop being so stoic" I said. He went mute when the waitress returned with a glass of Ghanaian local beverage, Asana with plenty of milk on it.
"I'd like a glass of bisab with groundnuts" I placed a different order. Asana isn't something I really like.

"Thank you" I picked the glass of bisab and took a sip.
"Sometimes I so much want to add groundnut to my food but I'm afraid of the reactions." Jayden said sadly.
"Poor you. Don't worry I'll eat it for us both. Alright?"
"You've still not answered my question." I almost burst out with the look he gave me.
"I thought we've walked past that?"
"Yeah we have. Can we go now?"
"Oh why so soon?"
"I know but I've got a lot of plans for us today, I don't  want us to waste our whole day here." He said in a flat tone.
"Alright" I picked Jamera from her seat. Jayden picked a bundle of notes from his pocket and put it on the table. That's the pay for a seven star eatery but it's all good since their food and service isn't bad.

He took Jah from my arms and she wrapped her hands around his neck quickly. The bond they have just frightens me.

He took my hand as well walked out of the place. I wonder where else he has planned to take us.
