Keisha's POV
I can't believe I'm finally free from my unpreferred marriage. For sometime, I thought I'd be married to Chris forever. Chris took the sheet from me and signed on his side. I nearly leaped with joy.
"Thanks you both for making my work very easy." I bend my knee in response like what female ball dancers do when they're asked for a dance.I decided to use the staircase, instead of using the elevator. Chris followed my move too. We descended each step together in silence.
"Thank you" he finally spoke
"What for? We both got what we wanted so there's no need thanking me"
"Yeah. Sure but if you had gone one the hard way with me, the process would have been very tiring and unending.
"Okay"
"I know I shouldn't have cheated on you but......"
"Chris, it's okay. You're with the woman you want and God being so good he didn't leave me out of his match makings. Jayden and I have rekindled."
"Really? I'm happy for you"
"Yeah. I'm happy for myself too. So enough of being so awkward around me okay?"
"Alright. Thanks again" I rolled my eyes. "You stated it point blank that you wanted no share of my properties but I can't leave you without giving you something. The few years that we spent together is one of my best memories even though my love wasn't reciprocated. I've bought you a glass house in Italy. You can lodge there whenever you want.""You didn't have to go through the trouble of getting me that, I can buy that myself. You know?"
"I know. That's why it's a gift. I'll have my chauffeur bring you the documents. Together with the details of the account that I've opened in Jamera's name." I'm just speechless.
"Thank you" I said simply. By then, we've both reached downstairs and out of the building.
"Don't mention, beautiful" he walked towards his car that's in front of mine.
"Are you leaving right away to catch your flight?"
"No. I've a couple of businesses here and besides, Jamera's third birthday is due in a month time. I want to be around."
"You mean you'd be staying here for a month?"
"Yes because I have some deals that I have to seal first. I'll be seeing my baby on every weekend though"
"That's cool" I replied.
"Once I'm done finalizing the deal and Jamera's birthday, I'll leave and never come back here. Only my reps would show up on my behalf"
"Oh okay"
"Enjoy life beautiful. Bye." He walked up to me and gave me a hug then he opened the door for me to enter my car.
"Thank you. You can visit home whenever you are feeling lonely here. You're family."
"I'll keep that in mind." He shut the door and I sped off. HELLO TO FREEDOM!!!
"YES!" I screamed with joy in the car."News has it that you spent your past two days with Jayden. Tell me about it." Mum stood at akimbo ready for answers.
"Come on mama. Won't you give me way?"
"Not until you tell me what really happened."
"We're back together mum"
"You're what?" I raised a brow at her reaction disbelievingly.
"Don't get me wrong. I mean how did that happen so quick?" She scratched the tip of her nose.
"I don't know. I guess nature was tired of us hurting each other."
"Well I'm happy for you baby" she hugged me. I hugged back. "Come in" she opened the front door for me to enter."I'm happy for you baby girl" I looked at dad surprised. What did he hear?
"Stop looking at me like that" we already had answers to our questions but just wanted you to be honest with us. Jayden is a great man and I'm glad you guys finally buried your ego."
"But there's still a problem, either than that I'd be making wedding preparations."
"What's the problem mum?"
"It's Rachel" I gave a soft chuckle.
"Rachel is insignificant mama, she has nothing to show the world."
"Tell me how you can term his soon to be baby mama as insignificant. Above everything, they'll soon have a child together" mum argued her point.
"I have his child too." I said proudly.
"But he doesn't know about it and that makes your child insignificant instead." Mum said and I bit my inner lip.
"That's going to end because I'll spill the beans on Jah's birthday" they both exchanged looks.
"You'll rather end up messing her birthday with roars and anger of a father. Better be ready for that" dad cautioned.
"I'm ready to accept my fate."
"That sounds nice to me" mum hugged me sideways."I came to let you know that I'm alive and kicking and I'm spending time with the love of my life so we can catch up with the years we spent apart."
"How romantic. Don't make baby number two until you're married"
"I second your mother" these old couple are just extra.
"I'll keep that in mind sir" I salute playfully."Tell me how your divorce went?" Damn I want to leave already. I miss my man"
"Can we talk about that when I get to Jayden's place?"
"Keisha, Jayden isn't going to varnish. Besides, you're here with us now so just give us the details and you'll be free to go."
"Alright" I sat down and they did too. I told them everything, word for word, leaving nothing out.
"Chris is a gentleman." Dad said after I was done
"He is. That guy is just so kind hearted and down to earth. I'm glad I didn't spend my first marriage with a scumbag after all. Jazlyn is one lucky girl. The least I could do to pay him back was to let him go to where he'd find joy.""That makes you the hero" mum said proudly.
"Always know that your secret bodyguard feeds me with records of your whereabouts. You need not to worry about reporting to me. Just call so we can hear your voice okay?"
"Okay daddy" I walked closing the gap between us and hugged him. "I love you daddy"
"I love you my princess" I hugged mum for sometime and broke the hug.
"Send our kisses to Jamera okay?"
"I'll dad" I exited the room. I've to hurry back into the arms of my man so we can celebrate my freedom.
