"Yo what's up with the long face? I knew your mood would change after I mention Keisha's name. A more reason why I was holding back."
"You should have held back" I shot back at him annoyed. I just need to pour my anger somewhere. Lucas got down from where he sat and stood in front of me.

"Upon all that I opened up to you that Lakeisha knew nothing about the planned marriage, you still hate her?"

He asked disbelievingly but all he got from me was a non decisive shrug.

"Come on Jayden. Even if she knew about it,  you still let her go and that's where you're wrong. Letting the woman you love have an eternal bound with another guy without looking back speaks loudly of how really you cherished her. I'm not saying this because she's my sister, but I'm speaking as the real gentleman that I am and what you did was wrong. I'm not going to side with you. Now whether she's happy at wherever that she is or not, it's all your fault because what I knew is that Lakeisha really cherished you."

"Did she pay you to tell me all this?" I looked at him in the eye, searching for something.

"Don't be ridiculous Jayden. I need not to tell you what that lady went through because of you. Maybe, just maybe one day you'd be able to meet her face to face and you'd see for yourself. I told you to object to the wedding but you were blinded by pride and arrogance. I just pray you find a perfect woman after losing one already."

"Well let's talk business, how do I get to work with her without her knowing that I'm the one she's working with?" I really want her to be in charge of my interior.
"That's only if you ask me to keep it a secret." He said with a smirk and I know what that means.
"Alright what price do I have to pay for that to happen?" I know what he wants. This guy right here is very manipulative and one hundred percent business guided.
"I need a private suite in your estate" he said with a more super smirk.
"Done!" I agreed to it. "I hope our other deal still stands?" I looked at him quizzically.
"We've made a lot of deals. Remind me of which one." He emptied his glass.
"The deal about keeping my acquired wealth a secret from her" I stretched myself in the sofa.
"Not a word has been told sir" he assured me with a broad smile.
"Alright. I'll need you to be the middleman in this. Make sure all the deal is signed by next month. That's the dead line."
"Next month?" He asked shocked
"Is there a problem?" I inquired.
"Not at all, everything is fine."
"Good to hear. Anyways, when will you return back home? Aunt Natalie is very worried." I went straight to the other reason why I decided to visit him. Aunt Natalie asked me to talk some sense into his skull so he'd move back to Ghana.
"Hahahahahaa" his laughter caught me off guard. What I asked didn't have any sense of humor in it so why's this guy laughing?
"What's so funny Lucas"
"Don't tell me you don't see the humor in your question, brother?" He laughed harder.
"I don't" I'm running impatient to know what caused his outburst.
"Returning back to Ghana is seemingly impossible in my book. My family likes dictating and that's what I hate. I won't have them get me hooked to some brat. I'm perfectly okay here" I wish I could talk him to return but there's no lie in what he'd said so I'll let him win this time and save my argument for sometime later.

Lakeisha POV

I'm very loaded with worries. All in the name of Lucas inviting Jayden over for the weekend. It's a hot afternoon and my pregnancy hormone insists that I sit under the sun while sipping on some apple juice. Being a first time mother, I'm so engrossed in everything about babies. This afternoon is just the opposite of what I've been doing since I decided to stay home and take care of myself and my unborn baby. With Alethea working as my personal assistant, being absent from work is the same as showing myself because she makes sure everything is done in order.
I just can't bring myself to concentrate on the baby magazine I have in hand. Lucas made me pay a great price in order for him to keep shut about blabbering to Jayden that I'm expecting a baby, muchless his. I had to agree to fly all the way from here in Italy to Los Angeles to furnish his apartment for him. So far, so good. Eventhough I've never come up to love Chris, there's this great friendship between us which I cherish and respect. Chris plays the role of a great male friend and a husband. That's only when we're surrounded by people. I wish that someday, I can love him like he does because he's just a great man. Any woman would die to be with him. I've branded myself to be that young independent bosslady. I took up cooking class right after moving here with my husband and I'm now a pro in cooking. I've turned every flaw that Jayden used against me to positivity. I want my child to grow and look up to me as her flawless mother who always has everything under control, no matter how tough the situation is. I'm the opposite of the lady I used to be some months back. Maybe I should call Lucas to remind him of our deal. I picked my phone upon contemplating and dailed Lucas' number. He picked up on the third ring.
"Hello?" The receiver's voice sent my heart rate speed up. I know that voice. The voice I hate to hear but I've come to miss so much.
"Hello?" Jayden's voice came up again and this time around, I felt my baby kick. Somehow, I prefer not to utter a word as I'm not ready to know what his attitude would be if he notices that it's me.

"Well Sugar Pie, I know Lucas would have loved to receive your call because that's how he has saved your name but unfortunately, he has left home to attend to something which needs his urgent attention. I'll tell him you called bye." His accent has changed. He speaks so manly like how my dad does, like that of a billionaire. Sounds funny because I know that's very impossible. Geez hearing his voice has just reminded me of how much I really miss him. No, I don't! I can't miss that jerk! I'm so thankful to Lucas that he didn't save my number by name. He'll never see my face, nor hear my voice ever again!
"Don't ever kick when you hear a voice like that again. That voice you heard is that of a very bad man. He never liked us." I brainwashed my unborn baby.
