"You're here? Join me, let's pray for our baby girl" she shifted to the side to make room for me. I sat beside her and held her hand.
"She'll be be alright." I consoled.
"I believe in God's miracles." She put her head on my shoulder.
"Chris came around" she raised her head  to look at me.
"What for?" I noticed the mood swing.
"To check up on his child of course. His blood couldn't match hers so I donated and it matched."
"Really? A lot happened behind my back for the short period I've been here to pray."
"It's miracles that are happening. I think you should keep longer here instead of sitting outside crying."
"I think so too." She put her head back on my shoulder. "You are so relaxed, looks like we got a different donor, correct?"
"Yes. I donated mine and it matched"
"You what?" She started shaking.
"What's wrong?" I held her worriedly.
"It's nothing."
"Are you sure?" She nodded. "Uncle Lexis said you have something to tell me. If there's anything that you're hiding from me, please open up. I want to hear it fr you than hearing it from an outsider."
"I'm not hiding anything, have I given you the chance not to trust me?" She's mad mad at me.

"Baby it's just a question alright? It doesn't mean that I don't trust you. If there's anyone for me to trust in this world, that person would be you. Please don't be mad" I pulled her in for a hug, was about to kiss her but I withdrew my steps when I remembered where we are...

Later in the evening, the scratch test results came out. It proved that the course of everything is the chocolate cake she consumed. The doctor revealed that the homemade chocolate cake also had two different ingredients such as peanut and unsteamed cashew. He said that the unprocessed cashew was added to make her body react to the peanut she consumed more. That's why blood came out from her mouth and nose.

"I think, Mr. Cudjoe that someone who knew about her dislikes used it against her. It has to be someone who's close to you. You need to start interrogating all your workers" he said.
"I'll see to that doc. But there's a slight favour that I need from you."
"Feel free sir" I sighed. I wish so much that my instincts will come out wrong because I don't know how I'll react to that.
"Doctor I want you to run a DNA test on Jamera and I. Her mum and I had an affair three years before she was born. I've been allergic to peanuts all my life. I just want to be sure of some please."

"With pleasure sir. Women can really hide their children from the men they love, especially when they're mad at you."

"Hmmm. I pray it comes out negative because I wouldn't know what to do."
"Don't start hating yourself  yet. You've already lost blood due to the donation you made. I'll use your hair strand and hers too."
"Okay doctor." He took a scissors from his drawer and cut some hair from my hand and put it a ziplock.
"The text will be out in a week time. My team and I will take our time on this delicate matter to make sure that we don't process any false report that will ruin your relationship with your family."

"Thank you for your concern doc, I'll take my leave now"
I left the office and made the necessary calls with my private detective and my guards. The culprit must be brought to book.

A week later

Lakeisha's POV

All investigations and CCTV footage proves that Rachel is the one who presented the poisoned cake to Jamera. The footage showed how she got down from a taxi without a registered number plate, dressed in an all black overall with a scarf wrapped around her head. She dropped the black gift by the gate, pressed the bell twice and hurried off to sit in the taxi and speed off. Two minutes later, one of the attendants attended to the gate to open it  for the guy who delivered the things I ordered online. The attendant found the present and picked it up before letting the delivery guy drive in.
Further CCTV footage showed that when the attendant got inside, he added the gift to the lots that were on the sofa. First  of all I don't blame any of my workers for their negligence because we were all busy helping each other out. No one was expecting something like that but the worse has already happened.

All glory to God, my baby is getting better on her sick bed. Her appetite is getting better too. She cried when we made her a real cake to celebrate her for making it through the hard times she had to go through. What happened has made her afraid of cakes. She'll get past it, its just a matter of time.
As for Rachel, she has varnished into thin air. She's duly wanted by the police. A round some of ten thousand Ghana cedis has been announced to give to whoever that can show us her whereabouts. She's pregnant and wouldn't be able to hide for a very long time. Aunt Abigail apologized to me crying that she is the one who revealed to Rachel that Jayden is the father of Jamera. She said she did that after she threatened the she wouldn't let Jayden see her child after it is born. From her point, she said that to make her refrain from any evil thing that she was planning.
It's obvious that she prepared that cake in order to know if truly Jayden is Jah's father.

After looking at him in the eye and denying that I'm hiding nothing against him, I don't know how to come clean to him again. Rachel has really cost me a deal. I'll have no option than to deal with whatever that will come my way. I know Jayden is a very calculative person, that's why I'm trying as much as possible to hide my fears and anxiety.

Jamera's illness has united us with our distant family and friends who were far from hugs. Alethea and her boyfriend, Damien came down to Ghana two days after they heard the news. Her mum and dad really missed her. I'm trying to convince her to stay home with for sometime.  She always has been having problems with Rita since she got here. I know its nothing but best friend jealousy. She thinks that Rita want to take her place as my bestie but that can not happen. Rita is my friend, my assistant and I trust her with most of my things since I came here. She has not given me a chance to doubt her loyalty. Alethea however is more like my sister, my fratenal twin. She has always got my back since childhood. I'm never going to choose anyone over her. The real deal is that I can have as many friends as I want and she has to understand that. I'll make them get along.
