Jayden's POV

I texted Keisha after I set up the place in my little castle down the hill. I want to make tonight one of her best nights on earth. We've been hiding this relationship for far too long now, I want to open up. If it wasn't my restraining stubbornness, Keisha would have let the cat out of the bag long ago. For now, only my best friend and my mom knows what's going on between Keisha and I. The rest of the family thinks that we're just good friends.
By the time Keisha knocked on the door, her favorite steak was in the oven and almost ready.
"Hey!" I stood between the doorway with a smile after opening it. She looks so good without trying.
WAP! She landed a mild slap on his cheek. She may think she's given me one painful dirty slap but it did nothing to me. What has invaded her sanity? I yanked her into the room and locked it after her.
"What in fucks name did you slap me for, Keisha?" I feigned anger when I realized she was in no mood for jokes.
"I'll answer that question after you tell me what was so important that kept you from showing up at both my graduation ceremony and dinner." She folded her arms on her chest and put her weight on one leg. That for sure gave her a fierce look. Keisha is the mother of all bad tempered women. Uncle Lexis told me she took that from aunt Natalie, her mum.
"Really, Keisha? You slapped me because I wasn't able to show up?" I agree I am wrong for not being by her side on her great day but hitting me shouldn't have been her target.
"Yes! And if you don't explain things to me right now, I'll do it again" She's very sad but she's trying to play hardcore by covering it with intense anger. I'll play along a little more to see the suppressed pain. I hate it when she fights her emotions. Just be real with me on how you're feeling.
"I went out with Rachel, happy?" I said with total distaste for the fact that I chose being with my old friends over her. Mentioning that girl's name I know, is like adding coal to fire but I can't for once cover my mistake with a lie when Keisha is concerned.
She laughed at what I'd said. Probably because she thinks I'm just finding means to hurt her in order to get even with the slap she gave me, with me knowing how much she hates seeing Rachel around me.
"Tell me you're just kidding with me and I'll walk out of here like nothing happened." She looked straight into my eyes to be convinced that I just made something up.
I took a few steps in front of her so there's no space between us. Why's she still hiding what she's feeling. I want to know what she has been through so I can apologize for the pain I've caused her.
"I'm too serious to kid around Miss.Miltmore. You asked of where I was the whole day and I was man enough to tell you or you're scared that she's a competition to you?" I added more sauce to the beef. The pain she's been suppressing with anger, formed tears and trickled down her cheeks. My heart sunk low. I'm the reason for all this pain? I've read enough philosophies about women and one of them is that, they shadow their pain with anger according to how they're feeling.
She took steps back to put a large space between us.
"Baby I'm..." I attempted closing the gap once more.
"Don't you dare take another step closer." She warned but I didn't listen. She searched around her for a weapon. Her eyes landed on the sharp knife on the center table but she chose against that. She sure doesn't want me dead or injured. She removed her left leg slipper and threw it at me when I kept closing the gap. I still didn't stop my mission, I determinedly moved forward. She removed the other slipper and threw it to hit my chest. By then, I'd gotten close enough to her and she started hitting hard on my chest.
"I hate you......I hate you" streams of tears made their way down her cheeks. I didn't hold to soothe or calm her down. It's ok to be angry with me but what I want her to do now is to let it all out.
"You chose that desperate rat over me on my big day, I hate you  Jayden!." Her eyes shot red with fury.
"Take this piece of shit and give it to her, since you let her have all I had. Your time, attention and affection." She threw the diamond ring I gave her as a promise to always stay by her side at me and it fell to the ground. She turned around, moving towards the door and tried to open it. As if I'd known that things would get this tensed up before locking the door and putting the key in my pocket. A smirk appeared on my lips when she turned to face me with scornful yet, sexy look.
"Open the door, you jerk!" Her hard words didn't move me. I guess my silence angered her more. She moved closer to me in long strides.
"I said open the damn fucking door" she raised her hand with the aim of landing a other slap on my cheeks.
"No, not this time around baby girl" I grabbed her hand in the air and slightly pressed her wrist, when she resisted my touch stubbornly.
"Let your filthy hand go off of me" she commanded with much hatred. All I did was to press her body to mine tighter. I'm not letting my baby walk out of this roof with this much anger, hatred and pain. She'll break down and I can't stand that.
"Please relax, I'm sorry" The heat produced by both our bodies, made my voice rough.
"There's nothing to be sorry about, Jayden. Just open the door for me to walk out in peace." She didn't look up at me. She's just focused on my shirt.
"You guys have been kissing also?" Her face dropped and more tears ran down her cheeks. I dropped my head to watch the part of my chest that she had had her eyes on. Holy shit! Rachel had got me stained with her nude lipstick when she was being annoyingly touchy at the eatery.
"Babe it's not what it looks like I promise." I said with a shaking voice. I'm scared of what she might do next. I don't want to lose her.
"Then tell me what it looks like, Jayden" I let go of her and sat on the single sofa and buried my face in my palm.
"You're wasting my time Jayden!" She snapped me out of my thoughts and I rose my head up to look at her.
"Rachel invited me to our favorite childhood spot in the slums. Honestly, I didn't want to go but she promised we'd just eat and make our way out of there. I met a couple of old friends there and for old time sake, I lost in the moment. I'm sorry my love." I knelt down in front of her. I locked gaze with her so she can read the sincerity in my eyes.
"What about the kissing?" She said with much displeasure.
"There was no kiss, I promise. Rachel was just touchy throughout our stay with the others at the eatery but it was nothing I couldn't handle. I know I hurt you with both my absence and harsh words, please forgive me."
I removed the key from my pocket and held it in my opened palm for her.
"After living this four corners, you'll have as much time to think through if I deserve your forgiveness." I told her with my head bent low sadly. I saw as her feet moved forward, approaching me slowly and paused in front of me. To my surprise, she knelt in front of me and helped me put my hand that had the key down.
