Aromatic Lloyd - angst

(pride month special I guess- I already posted this before but I ditched the book idea so this is here now-)

Third Person POV

February 14th, Valentine's day.

The sunset of such a special occasion, was festively colored in shades of pink and orange.

It's safe to say most couples would be watching the sky, and that's exactly what they're doing.

The Monastery's residents all sit outside of its walls, staring up at the beautiful setting, however, not all of them are couples of course.

Only two pairs outside are actually together: Zane and Pixal, and Jay and Nya. Cole does have a girlfriend, but Seliel's off doing her own thing, so they don't exactly talk much. Now, of course this isn't a real issue for the others...if anything, the green ninja is the only one without any romantic experiences anyway.

But again, this isn't an issue for him, or his friends at all-

"Seriously?!"

...besides Jay...

Lloyd turned to his friend, confused. "What?"

"You're like- the only single one here! Besides Kai, I mean."

Lloyd takes an earbud out, pausing the Panic! At The Disco song on his phone. "...yeah? Is something wrong?"

Jay groans, "Yes!" he exclaims. "We've gotta find you a girlfriend- or boyfriend-"

Nya giggles, putting her hand on her boyfriend's shoulder. "Uh, Jay? Do you...know what you're saying?"

"Yeah? What do you mean?"

"Dude!" Cole yells, before going into a fit of laughter.

"What is it?!" Jay shrieks.

Everyone- including the blonde- starts laughing as well.

The blue ninjas face turns red, and he gets up to go back inside.

As he stomps onto the porch Kai stops him. He doesn't seem to be laughing, but he does wipe a few years from his eyes....
"He's aromantic." the brunette finally says.

"...wha?"

Lloyd sighs, "It means I don't feel, like- attracted to anyone."

It takes him a few seconds to understand- "OHHH!" but he got there. "Sorry!"

Lloyd waves it off, "It's fine," he says, as Cole is still laughing his ass off.

Nya stands up, sighing, finally noticing her brother's expression. "You okay, Kai?"

"Hm? Oh, yeah, whatever." Kai stands up, and leaves.

"Well that's...weird." Jay admits.

"Yes, but we should head inside anyway. It is getting dark." Zane suggests. Pixal nods as the two of them stand up.

"Right, let's go." the brown ninja chuckles, and the others all went back inside.

The majority of them went either to the living room or kitchen, besides the master of fire, who went straight to his room.

As Lloyd entered the Monastery, he saw this, and noted tears coming out of his eyes.

He went to follow, but Nya got to him first, and quickly got to the door.

The blonde left it at that, setting up his music again and pressing play.

He gets to the living room, and sits down on the couch. As the first beats of 'The Ballad of Mona Lisa' play, he starts thinking...
'...what's up with him though?'

Nya stands outside of her brother's door, head pressed against the wood lightly, listening.

Normally this would be seen as weird, but she does do this often.

A faint whimper caught her attention, and she puts her hand on the doorknob, putting on a sympathetic face before twisting it.

The door creaked open, revealing the dark room Nya stepped into. She looked around for a moment,"Bro, is everything okay-" before seeing her brother, sitting near the foot of his bed, crying.

"Kai!"

Wasting no time, she races over to her brother, kneeling next to him. Kai didn't say anything, just hugged her tightly as he sobbed even more.

Footsteps could be heard from the hallway, before the door swings open the rest of the way, revealing two very worried droid. "What's wrong?" Zane asks.

"He just- starting crying out of nowhere!" Nya says frantically. Kai's grip tightens, and she hugs him back. "I have no idea why..."

"...I will leave you two alone." he says. Nya nods, whispering a thank you before the shuts the door.

Pixal and him lock eyes for a few moments, before an idea pops into the latter's head.

"Do you think this has something to do with Lloyd?" Zane asks.

Pix tilts her head in question. "What do you mean?"

He clears his throat, "Hypothetically, Kai could be experiencing a one-sided attraction to Lloyd, and he is just unaware of it."

She looks down, thinking. "...this does have a possibility of being true..." Pixal mutters. Her head comes back up as a new point is brought up. "Though with Lloyds sexuality-"

"-we don't have an exact way of cheering Kai up about this." Zane finishes.

The bots share saddened looks before leaving the siblings alone fully, walking back down the hallway.

As they reenter the living room, Lloyd approaches them worriedly.
"Is Kai alright?" he asks.

This...will be hard to explain...
