Third Person POV

Currently, most of the ninja walk around the semi-crowded mall- and it definitely took way too long to get there.

Honestly though, Jay and Nya didn't have to be there- Jay's gift had arrived that morning, and the water ninja already had her's painted- but they came along just because.

At least, that was the blue ninja's reason. Well, that- and he's been to the store many times and knows where everything is.

Nya actually had something else to do, like making sure her brother wasn't sad 24/7, meaning she basically had to stay with him all the time.
Which..

"Uh, where's Kai?"

...isn't going well.

"Wait, what?" Jay turned around, now noticing his absence too. "Wasn't he here a second ago..?"

"I thought he was..." Nya pouted, sighing as she started to run the other way. "I'll be back!"

"Uh, okay?" the ginger said, but she was already down the next isle.
Jay turned to the others, realizing they were far away too, and ran after them. "Hey, wait for me!"

The fire ninja walked alone, in a different isle, quite far from his friends. However, the Lego sets on the shelves didn't have any interest to him.

He already got his gift- a while ago, but he decided to stray further from the group, thus leading him here.

Did he have a real reason for walking on the other side of the store? Other than to try and clear his head, no.

As far as gifts go, he's got a pretty good idea that Lloyd is starting to catch onto how he feels.
So, for the gift, Kai decided on something simple.

A paper card and an envelope sat together in his oversized jacket pocket.

'Yeah it's simple...but he might hate me after this anyways..' he reminded himself again.

A bit of guilt wouldn't leave his body though.
It's Lloyd's birthday, but the gift is more about him...was this selfish..?

"Kai!"

He flinched looking up and seeing her sister on the other side of the isle. The brunette didn't have time to respond before Nya walked up to him, upset.
"There you are, why'd you leave?"

He leaned his head down, mumbling, "..sorry."

She sighed, calming herself down. "It's fine, Kai, just-"

'Beebeep!' Nya was interrupted by her own phone beeping. She turned around, taking out her phone and reading the ID.

Kai, out of curiosity, peered over her shoulder and saw a name he didn't recognize.

His sister noticed the confusion and explained, "It's Lloyd."

'Ohhh.' Kai thought to himself, of course being nosy and reading the actual text;

'Lil Bro; hey, when u get back, can we talk abt something? I'll tell the others in a few days'

"Well, that's something." Nya said.

Kai turned away, rolling his eyes. "Yeah right." he said, and his smile quickly faded. "I said this before, there's no way he'd like me."

The water ninja turned to face her brother and looked at him kindly. "Trust me, I'm sure he's into you. He just doesn't know it yet."

"How are you this sure?"

"I mean, I knew you were bi before you found out, and so did Skylar." she smiled, grinning even wider when her brother giggled. "Plus you're like, the most difficult person. So if I could find that out, I'm pretty certain he likes you."

"Yeah yeah, whatever."

'Just you wait.' Nya sighed, typing away on her phone before hitting send, and following her bro out of the isle. 'just you wait..'

'Sis; k, I'll be back soon'

Lloyd read the text, sighing, before flopping back onto his bed.
'She'll definitely understand.'

He exited the Messages app, going straight to his music app. It didn't take him long to find the song he'd been obsessed with for the past week.

Lloyd pressed play on 'Nearly Witches', and turned of the screen.

Closing his eyes as the french words were sung aloud, he tried to relax until the conversation tonight.

I am sorry for how much I neglected this book :,>
Good news- I'm remotivated for this so yeah- I'm working on the next part rn :3
