(movie-verse)Third Person POV
The red ninja sits near the window of his and his sister's apartment, looking down onto the ocean half a mile away.
Homework sheets cluttered the brunt's desk, some of them long overdue but all of them finished and will be turned in tomorrow.
This 'stress-working'- as Jay calls it- happens to him alot.
Especially when he's thinking about his element...
He sighs, glancing over at the bright red fire emblem hanging on his door, reminiscing about when he got it.
That day...his power wasn't used for anything good.
What would Kai think of doing when a giant boulder threatens to kill he and his friends?
Send a flaming ball towards it and only lowering their chance of survival?
Of course. All it did was make things worse.
That's what fire is to him. Destruction. Pain. Anger.
The same thing that took his parents away.
Fire burned down his house.
Fire burned his parents alive.
Fire burns his own hands when trying to use it.So he doesn't.
Everytime the ninja have been called into action once more he only uses the 'fire' that resides in his mech.
Sensei Wu isn't aware of the reason, and neither is the rest of the team.
Although one person never pressured him, never tried to pry on the subject or openly make him feel uncomfortable about his past...
Lloyd Garmadon.
Funny, how the most hated kid in Ninjago is the one person who can make him feel better on days like this.
Despite his father's mark left on the town, the green ninja never let the hate get to him..
One of the many things Kai loves about him.
-
A light tapping on his window snapped him back into reality. Looking to the direction of it he was met with a very familiar face that scared the shit out of him.
"NYA?!"
The water ninja cheekily waves, using one of the arms on her water machine as hand.
People down on other floors or in the open were certainly intrigued...
Said blue metal extends to Kai's window once again, but this time the 'claws' on it make a "come on" motion.
Their identities were shown to the city earlier, so there wasn't any use in hiding.
Still...he doesn't want to draw attention more than he was about to.
With the hood of his bright red coat covering his spiky hair, he opened the window and- flaming gem absent this time- stepped out and flipped into the backseat of the water mech.
Nya takes off her mask and let's the risen hand descend back to the water. "Good job, bro." she admits, though surprisingly he stays quiet.
"What's going on?"
"You'll see."
The mech's engine grew louder as it sped across the water, making it impossible for the siblings to say anything more than that.
