Kai and Lloyd are in their shared tent after one of the best nights in their lives.

They had finally confessed.

The brunette finally quit his deathly addiction in exchange for a chance at love.

And it was amazing for everyone, the other ninja included.

The blonde is sitting, legs crossed and eyes glued to his sketchpad. His boyfriend is next to him, trying his best to keep quiet as Lloyd works. He never noticed before but the green ninja looks very cute when he's focused.

According to Lloyd, art is a big part of his life. It helps him cope and deal with stress when the others aren't around to help. Or when it's way too late at night to go in the forest.

While on the subject of hobbies, Kai's mind starts to wonder, and he realizes that he himself doesn't really have a hobby.

The past few months have been too taxing on his body and mind for him to have one. Birdwatching used to be fun, but that was the start of something else.

He remembers- quite vividly- he and Nya were on at a nearby park gazebo a while back, scanning the area for any bird in sight. Luckily there were a lot of them so it was worth the burning heat. This was genuinely fun for the brunette, and a nice break from his anxiety. Later on in the day, Nya had to go to the restroom, leaving her brother under the shade alone. As he wrote down some extra facts about a canary he found online, a small box caught his attention. Looking up from the book, he noticed that the box was indeed cigarettes. He's not sure what came over him but, he wanted to try it. He knew his brain told him no, the memories of his father told him no. But he tried it.

If only he hadn't taken it then.

"Uhh, babe?" Kai snapped out of his thoughts to see his boyfriend staring at him with a nervous smile. "Did you hear me?" he asked.

The brunette mentally smacked himself for ignoring him. "Sorry, no. What'd you say?"

"Do you wanna go birdwatching with me?" the blonde asked, quickly grabbing the latter's binoculars and smiling brightly.

Kai couldn't help but smile at his enthusiasm, but the smile faltered as he registered the question.

'..birdwatching, huh?'

Lloyd became concerned. "Is everything okay?"

"Y-Yeah, it's fine." he answered quickly. The brunette did his best to smile as he grabbed the binoculars from his hands and headed out. "You coming?"

The blonde's eyes glowed brightly in the light as he followed. "Yes!'

"This is so cool! How do you know so much about birds?" Lloyd asked as he quickly wrote down more notes his lover told him. He write exceedingly fast when he's excited, sometimes even faster than Zane.

Kai didn't answer and took a second to take in everything that was happening.

His crush not only confessed, but helped him through the worst years of his life. So now he's ditched the cigarettes and got himself the cutest boyfriend ever. The others were surprisingly happy about the second part too, he still hasn't figured out why yet...

But he could finally breathe easy knowing that Lloyd and Nya were happy.

The blonde had stopped writing a few minutes earlier to simply stare at his boyfriend's calm expression. Lloyd smiled to himself, but wondered if the smile on Kai's face was forced earlier.

Birdwatching...it never seemed like something Kai would know much about. Looking down at his notebook, it couldn't be far from the truth; he's written down at least 5 pages worth of bird facts. Not to mention the countless sketches he'd been making during all this. But he knew- at least he had enough clues to think- that this was special to him. But for some reason he never does this...

And thinking back to when he showed him the binoculars, it was almost like Kai was surprised to see them.

'So if he didn't pack them...but he still knew so much about birds...but nobody expect Nya was really worried when he left last night...then he must've done this before...' he quickly wrote down all of this in his notebook.

The frantic pencil noises startled Kai a little bit, and he decided to make a joke out of it. "You really like writing, huh?"

Lloyd jolted, the pencil led broke underneath his finger. He covered his notepad quickly. "I guess, so hehe." Kai had a concerning look on his face.

'Oh sure, you're the worried one.' the blonde shook his head. They weren't getting anywhere like this. "So.." he started, scooting closer to the brunette. Lloyd was right up under him, staring into his amber eyes."...what made you like birdwatching?"

Kai flinched. He said that so innocently, but he knew what he was doing. The brunette moved away, and looked in the other direction. But he knew he had to explain why...

"..me and Nya used to do it a lot. Before I started...doing that. The last time we actually did that together was when I found a box of cigarettes."

Now Lloyd understood.

"Oh, Kai..." he brought a hand up to Kai's face, stoking it gently. Both of them felt awkward then; they haven't really done something like this. "...I'm so sorry." Before he could respond, Lloyd pressed his lips onto his own, making that their second kiss since the confession.

They pulled apart shortly after, still staring at each other. Lloyd panted, "..Maybe..you could..start birdwatching again? I think..Nya would...really like it if..if you did." he started to blush. "A-And...I think b-birdwatching really s-suits you.."

Kai blushed deeply at how timid he sounded.

"Yeah. I think I will." he leaned down slightly and planted a kiss on Lloyd's cheek.
