Third Person POV
Anyone could see that the Fire King had everything he could dream of. He had all the riches, soldiers and allies across he seas, along with a lover who happens to be one of the strongest people in Ninjago.
Still, something was missing. Both kings had changed once the latter married into the Dark Kingdom. Although things got better for the village under new rulers and name, it didn't seem to improve within the palace.
Most of the villagers didn't understand it at first. How could a king as fearsome as he- as both of them- be missing anything? But once they noticed the routine of the Kai's lover- always going into the woods during the day, and never socializing with the townsfolk- they understood his sorrows to an extent.
The fire king wasn't fully aware of it himself, he knew he was to blame. No matter how much the castle staff said it wasn't true, or how many times his soldiers chided him for being ridiculous, he believed it.
And after a few grueling month of this, enough was enough.
So the king left the palace one day, trekking through town with urgency and concern, to the other side of the isle. His hair was matted and felt empty, with the absence of his crown, and even his cape flew behind him with an intimidating aura.
All of the Jaded Flames Kingdom knew not to speak with either king when they were like this. And all of them listened, either out of fear or not wanting to distract their ruler.
All but one.
Near the edge of the village, just before the forest's entrance, was an open-air shop owned by a rather muscular red-headed potion seller.
The stall is held up by slim, dark wood trunks at the sides and center, of the same purplish hue of all the town houses. A rather long oak wood plank sat atop some of these as a counter, all shadowed by an overhang with flowering vines growing down the sides.
That surface and beneath it is where the mysterious woman kept all her best potions and elixirs. In fact, she had just placed out the newest samples onto it over a thin red cloth when the fire king came storming by.
"Will you be alright, Sire?" Skylor asked, with the slightest bit of boldness in her voice.
Kai paused. He cleared his throat and tried not to sound on edge. "If it goes well, then yes."
The elven woman smirked and began looking through her stock of potions.
"If I may suggest," Her smile grew wider as she picked up one by the slender bit. She continued, "Perhaps this will help?"
The king cocked a brow and stared at the swaying, purple liquid in the bottle. On its side was a slip of paper, with letters in a foreign language. He wanted to leave, he's wasting valuable time.
