Third Person POV
Lloyd's sword clangs against the ground as his enemy falls along with it. Off the cliff they go, peobably to come back later on with some new powers and an even stronger resolve, but that would be handled later.
The battle was close, but nobody could best the green ninja. But not without a few… casualties.
Blood dripped from Lloyd’s mouth, down the ripped sleeves and tattered midsection of his gi, and onto the cracked stone beneath him.
He can barely hear anything except the ringing in his ears. One arm is limp to the side of his shaking frame, the other holding an amulet high above his head.
He got it.
"Lloyd!"
He turned at the faint call of his boyfriend, but the strength is gone from him. His legs finally give out, sending him to the ground onto the shallow pool of mixed blood.
Footsteps vibrate against the ground and eventually their owner comes into view. Even through the blur in his eyes, he would know Kai anywhere.
The fire ninja bent down and pulled his lover's head onto his lap, just as his eyes closed in exhaustion. If Kai’s heart wasn’t already beating fast, it would have started then.
He cradled Lloyd’s face, wiping the blood from his mouth in a smudge-inducing smear. "Come on, baby, wake up."
Kai looked over the wounds across Lloyd’s gi, In truth, he knew he shouldn’t be worried.
They weren’t far from the Bounty, the wounds weren’t deep–
he could tell that much–but this battle had been going off and on for days. How could he not be worried?
Suddenly, a light emits from the largest slit across Lloyd’s chest. A glow of emerald, a glow of energy. He's healing himself. Kai is still, letting his shoulders relax as the tears finally spill out.
"Idiot." Kai half-whispers, half-laughs. "You had me worried there."
At the sound of his love's soft chuckle, Lloyd's eyes open the smallest amount.
"Did I..." His voice is low, and Kai has to lean in closer to hear it. "Did we win..?"
“You did.” He says, pulling Lloyd closer unto his chest. “I knew you would, Greenie.”
Lloyd smiled weakly and closes his eyes again, fading back into unconsciousness. Kai could’ve picked him up, carried him to the Bounty and gotten out of there as soon as possible, but he stays a bit longer.
Stays to watch the sunrise as beams of light begin to pour onto his loves face, making the gem in his hands glow brightly. Stays to let Lloyd rest a moment longer, for him to just take in the fact that, ‘Yeah, he did that. He stopped another villain. He saved the day.’
‘Again.’
