Third Person POV

After a frigid day out in public, their house's front door was hastily pushed open and the two males rushed inside.

Heat from the fireplace wrapped around them, rushing to their faces before anything else. Winter coats soaked from the now-melted snow, their first order was to remove them quickly and take in as much heat as they could.

"Finally!" Kai peeled off his jacket quickly and carelessly tossed it next to the rather large carpet under the couch.

Lloyd sighed and unzipped his own. As warm air hit his face and ears, he smiled. "It's good to be back home."

"Yeah, it was cold as fuck and the skating rink wasn't even that fun."

"True.." He slid the jacket off of his shoulders and unsheathed his arms from the sleeves. A slight blush over his face, Lloyd mumbled, "...it was nice going with you though."

Kai's face reddened as well, although the fast-beating in his chest didn't stop the buzzing pains on his body.

Despite his flustered face, he said, "...I fell- like, ten times... you think that helps?"

Lloyd chuckled as he folded the coat over his arm and picked up Kai's. "I dunno..." Once he stood back up, he smirked at him. "..does it?"

"...well, a little, but still-"

The words stopped coming out of his mouth when he was kissed. Lloyd planted a quick peck on his cheek and his face reddened immediately.

The blonde pulled away with a wink. "Okay then." he said, and walked over to the couch.

Kai stood still for a minute. A small amount, the blush faded, but he still had the urge to kill his partner with cuddles if it meant that he'd be that close again.

When he could finally stand, he stumbled into the kitchen. "...I'll be back."

Lloyd turned back with a smile. "Alright, don't be long!"

'I know it's been a while but still...'

Boots and wet socks were exchanged for dry and fuzzy red ones, which despite the chill of the kitchen tile, was nice. Much less cold than what was outside, and Kai was thankful for that.

There was a light sting on the tips of his fingers, from freezing outside to hands steadily warming against the hot cocoa mugs in his hands.

Even from the doorway, he felt the heat of the fireplace. The silhouette of his boyfriend sat on the couch in front of it, the light from the flames illuminating the dark wood floor.

Warmth hit the floor as well at this rate, actually heating up his feet for once as he walked across the room.

His much more organized boyfriend sat on the couch cross-legged, his clothes now being pajama pants and a crimson hoodie from Kai he'd borrowed. Red and green-striped socks on his feet and a small blanket on his shoulders, he certainly looked like a child, along with the glow in his eyes.

The mug thudded against the end table and he seemed to snap out of whatever daze he was in.

Kai handed him the mug and Lloyd accepted it happily, almost saying a thank you but drinking the cocoa as soon as it was handed to him, like his mouth and brain weren't working clearly.

His eyes sparkled once the sweetness hit his tongue.

Smiling all throughout, the drink was gone quickly, and just as Kai sat down on the light brown cushion, he was already done.

It wasn't often he saw Lloyd this clumsy and childish, at least not anymore. In high school, he was a bit more all over the place, but university had kinda drained most of that from him.

Now though, winter break grants them a bit of time on their own- at Kai's house since he didn't go to college- and even though it's a mere two weeks, it's an escape from all the stress that university brought the latter.

As Lloyd wiped the side of his mouth, Kai said, "You look very cute like that."

"Mm-" his face flushed and he almost chocked on the little bit of cocoa left in his mouth. He swallowed abruptly "I- what?"

"You're adorable."

Lloyd hid his blush as he leaned forward and placed the cup on the floor. "Shut up."

"Hey, I'm not wrong." Kai scooted closer and wrapped his arms around his waist.

"Hush..."

"Nope."

Lloyd rolled his eyes, but allowed him to move closer. And he did, moving behind him and burying his face in his neck.

They sat there for a while.

It's been so long since they've done anything like this.

"I know that today sucked..." Kai muttered against his neck, "..but we should do this more often."

"Mhm..." Lloyd murmured a reply, mostly focused on his boyfriend's actions. He turned just as the gap between them was closed.

The kiss began soft, although both missed eachother terribly and it quickly became more passionate.

The blanket was forgotten about as Kai pulled Lloyd onto his waist and leaned to the side. His neck now on the armrest, they continued to make out, now with Lloyd's arms around Kai's neck, and his hands underneath the latter's shirt.

Lloyd moaned softly at the touch and kept kissing him.

Eventually the lovers separated, a small trail of spit in-between them.

Through the panting, Kai stared at the man above him for a few minutes.

His eyes were glossy, probably from being overwhelmed in the moment but somehow it made those jade orbs even prettier. His normally pale face was faintly pink, a smile creeping up his soft lips. His hair hung over his face, the normal blonde locks in a peach hue thanks to the fireplace.

Kai pulled him back, their foreheads touching, and whispered, "I love you, Lloyd."

He chuckled. "I love you more, Kai."

He decided not to argue the statement as Lloyd nuzzled his neck. His arms snaked around his waist and Kai did the same, one hand around Lloyd's back and one kept in his messy hair.

Being safe in each other's grasp, they fell asleep, two lovers next to the fire.
