Serena

“He doesn’t want me, Carrie.” I say sad as my head is laying on her lap, she’s caressing my face as I lay there on the couch. She’s always been there for me whenever I needed her. She’s been in this house forever. I think I was 6 or 7 when my dad hired her. She’s been a part of the family ever since. She’s been like a mother to me whenever I needed her to. She’s a wise, chubby elderly woman. She always gives me good advice, but then I end up doing the opposite and screw everything up.

“It’s his loss, Serena. There’s only so much you can do. Someday you will find a guy who will be madly in love with you, and who will cherish you. Though I was rooting for you two to stay together, what did you call that thing when you like a couple and you cherish them or something? she asks.

“You ship them.” I say sad. I shipped us. I shipped us very much. I don’t even know if you can ship yourself, but I do.. or did. I can’t keep doing this to myself. Everytime I get my hopes up, he comes and crash them down.

“I ship you and K.C” Carrie says. She’s been on the internet too much. I know I shouldn’t make her watch all the tv-shows. I can’t help but to chuckle on how she’s becoming more modernised. She didn’t know how to use a computer when I met her for the first time, now she’s spending all her time on it.

I hate him for everything he has done right now. And he wants things to be ‘normal’ with us, continuing the friend thing. I don’t know if I can do that anymore. I don’t want to chase him anymore, I can’t deal with his shit anymore.

---------

Tori has been driving with me the last few days because my dad told me to drive her.  She has been quiet these past few days. She normally always has something to say.

We arrive at school, and she gets out without saying anything. The first lesson I have Math, so I am all alone, but it’s okay, the math lessons always flies by very fast.

I sit at the table with Jennifer and Bridget eating a yoghurt. Then I feel someone poke on my shoulder and I hear Tori talk.

“I’m off at 3 today, the last lesson just got cancelled, so I’ll just drive with someone else.” She says. She was supposed to drive with me after school, since we both got off at 4.

“Alright.” I nod.

“Tori!” we all turn our head around, and see K.C making his over over to us. His eyes are locked on her.

“Chemistry just got cancelled!” he says very excited. He doesn’t even look at me.

“Yeah, I’ve seen it.” Tori says smiling to him.

“It’s freaking sweet. Now we can go and -” He was about to say something but Tori cut him off.

“Finish our assignment early.” She says in a weird tone.

“I was just telling Serena that I don’t need a ride from her.” She says and looks at me, making K.C. look too.

“Oh.. Hi Serena, I didn’t see you there.” He chuckles. I don’t know why that makes me irritated and hurt. He didn’t see me? I was just sitting right here, where I always sits. He always sees me.

“Guess you need glasses.” I say sarcastically and turn around. Jennifer and Bridget look at me, and I just look down at my yoghurt, I suddenly lost my appetite. Now I’m invisible too? He doesn’t say anything.
