Chapter 44- Let him go

"Who the hell is S?" I say. I just borrowed Mason's phone and someone called S just texted him. He doesn't answer but keeps looking at the screen. I ask him again.

"What?" He says and focus on what I have to say and not the game on the screen.

"Who's S?" I say and he snatches the phone from my hand.

"Why are you looking through my texts?" He says and sounds a little mad.

"Chill dude, the message just popped up." I say and still wait for an answer.

"It's just a girl I met at my party."

"A girl you met at the party? Why didn't you tell me?" I ask, he usually always tells me about his catches. "I would, but I really don't know about her. She's a little weird." He says

"Did you sleep with her?"

"Yes."

"Why are you calling her S? What's her name?" I ask curiously. He just looks at the screen for a moment, then turns his attention to me again.

"What?"

"Her name?" I repeat.

"Oh, Sadie." He says and smiles. Sadie? I take back the phone from his hand. I read their latest messages and it's a really weird conversation they have going on. Mason takes back his phone again.

"I read 5 messages and she called you an asshole in 3 of them." I say and laugh.

"She likes to curse. As I said, she's a little weird."

"Why haven't I met her?" I say and can't help but feel he is being very secretive about her.

"You will.. It's just not a good time. We are fighting a lot and I really don't know if I should continue it with her, not that there's anything to continue, she's just coming over a lot and stuff." He says. Why is he making all these excuses.

"Do you have a picture of her?" I ask

"No." He says and turns his attention to the screen again.

"How is it going with lover girl?" He suddenly asks.

"Tori?" I ask?

"Do you have other girlfriends?" He asks sarcastically.

"Haha, you know ever since I got that offer she's been a little weird. And yesterday, when I tried to kiss her she acted pretty funny."

"Do you think she's mad that you are leaving?" He asks

"Probably, but I don't know what's up. Seems like there's something she's not telling me."

"She's screwing someone else." Mason says and laughs at his own joke. I have gotten used to his dirty jokes. That's pretty much the only thing he is thinking about.

"I'd like to know what but I'm sure she won't tell me"

"Dude, you are way too soft, be a little rough and show her who the boss is."

"Dude sometimes things don't have to be that complicated" I tell him.

"Well it is obviously messing with your head, so just tell her what you want to hear." He says and keeps looking at the screen. Is it just me or everyone acting weird around me? Even Mason has been acting strange around me these couple of weeks.

"I can't believe that you are leaving man. Two weeks from now and then you're gone. It's going to be so freaking weird, you know?" He says and lets out a sad chuckle.
