Summer was gone too fast that year.

For two days straight it was cloudy and rainy

That caused all of the people (including me) to start crying

And when they woke the next day and saw the sun rise in a different sort of way

They knew that Summer was dying

The last of her warm rays fell in September

Painting the trees with a warm orange colour

For the people to have something of her to remember

Winter sent his wives

October, November, and December

To strip the trees of their painted leaves

And to cover the land in a blanket of freeze

Then January came himself

To chase away the mistletoe and the merry elves

Right after him came his brothers February and March

And to compliment came their half – sister April

To their discontentment came June proceeding May

No matter how hard they tried, the sisters would not go away

When Summer came back again

She embraced all with a sunlit kiss

And a warming rain

But before long

She was gone again
