You could say that you and I
Don't exactly see eye to eye
On the same wavelength or waterline
You're in the dark
I'm in the light
Don't wanna open your eyes
Don't wanna close mine
To get to this island
On which we both belong
I want to fly
But you want to boat
I can't hear you screaming
And you can't see where I'm going
We clutch the cluttered secrets to our chests
Ashamed and afraid the other wouldn't understand
Just for once couldn't we be friends
Meet in twilight and leave both worlds open
But for now we stand apart
Judging our own selves and thinking we are broken
You could call it
Strained relations
