Some of us are exposed to things that we wish we could undo or unsee.
You always see them in movies
Read about them in books
All clad in white
Without a worry in the world
Children of innocence
Pure and true
With lives full of light
And not a smidgen of impurity
Unlike my mind, tainted at an early age
By word of the grapevine
A book's unsuspecting page
Oh, all the things I have seen
Not like scribbled notes, which you can simply throw away
Memories, painted images on the walls of my mind
Rustled up without being touched, yes so easily, they are here to stay
I probably should have believed them
They said that ignorance was bliss
And that I did not know what I was missing...
