"Niloloko mo ba ako? You made a deal with me and now you're saying that she's gone for weeks now?! How the fuck is that possible?" Sigaw ko habang makakuyom ang mga kamay.
Kung alam ko lang, I should have just carried her and taken that girl away. Fuckin' useless. This fuckin' papers are making me more angry. Andami ko ng problema and now this woman is gone? Oh fuckin jards. Why's my life so sucky?
I already called all the connections that I have. I tried to find her pero wala man lang trace kung saan siya. I tried to calm myself by drinking. Nakailang alak na ako. I am supposed to deadass drunk now pero hindi parin siya mawala sa isip ko. I've never been so stressed like this before. He can just give the company kung kanino niya gusto. Total as a second child, I never experience the love of a father. I always knew na sa kambal ko lang ibibigay ang lahat, but here I am trying. Always.
It's been weeks at wala parin akong balita. I tried to call my twin but he isn't answering. He's doing well. Slowly moving well. Kahit kailan hindi parin talaga kami nagbabago. It feels like we were born to compete with each other. I can sense it, I can feel it. He got her.
'Move your ass now. She's with us in the bar'
My eyes shifted when I heard my phone buzz while I was playing cards. My world suddenly lit up when I read her message. Fuck! This is it. I need to move now. Ayaw ko ng pumapalpak this time. I need to move real quick.
"I quit. Now I lose." Aniko sabay ibinagsak ang baraha habang nakangiti.
I couldn't draw their faces when they hear me say quit. They never saw me quit cause I never quit kaya't gano'n nalang ang reaksyon nila nang magpatalo ako sa laban. I lose 2 million in just one game. But what is 2 million when I can finally take her?
Agad na akong nagpunta ng bar, only wearing my black suit. When I entered the bar, I immediately saw her. Gorgeously saw her dancing at the center, very drunk. I can't stop smiling watching her laughing so hard, enjoying every move she makes. My heart beats so fast. Why am I so nervous huh? Why does it feel so weird every time I see her?
I went to the dark side of the bar and followed her nang bumaba na siya sa gitna. I planned to take her now but my plan suddenly shattered. I cannot resist with her kisses. It feels like my world suddenly slowed down while my heart was filled with butterflies. How can I forgot this? I fucked her instead.
It's been fuckin' weeks from now since we did something at the bar. How did I just let her go? I am so hypnotized by her beauty. How can I forget her face?
"Umayos ka, papunta siya ngayon sa mall."
Agad akong napayos ng necktie nang marinig ko ang magandang balita galing kay Zeda. After a long days of waiting, I can finally see her. I don't want to let her go anymore.
"Should I go?"
Should I be dominant? But I don't wanna scare her. I think I need to be chill and nice?
"Huwag ka ngang padalos dalos. You might scare her, kaya umayos ka nga–"
I ended the call before she'll say more. I can't handle how noisy she was. I can't imagine myself being in a married situation already.
I immediately arranged all the papers on my desk and called the boys to gain any updates. I need to think and move fast before Diego gets ahead of me. I knew he is doing something silently.
"Bro, guess what? I got her already" Patawang saad sa'kin ni marco.
Shit! This is it! No more sleepless nights. I can now finally rest my mind. I finally have her now.
"You can't control everything, Dylan."
That's what Diego used to say.
But he's wrong. I can. I always have.
And this time, I finally have her.
"Bro, guess what? I got her already."
Marco's voice echoed through the receiver, loud and cocky like always.
I leaned back on my chair, exhaling a heavy breath as my fingers tightened around my glass. "Are you sure it's her?"
"Positive. She put up a fight, punching tryna getaway from us though—almost got one of our guys hit. But yeah, she's here."
My jaw ticked. A strange heat spread across my chest at the thought of her fighting back. Cordelia Velasquez—always the stubborn one. I should've known she wouldn't go down quietly.
"She's prettier than I thought," Marco added, laughing softly.
That did it.
My grip around the glass tightened until I heard it crack. I felt my heart beats so fast and my anger trying to show. I tried to relax myself not to cause any drama.
"Marco," I said quietly, almost calm. "Make sure she's in a comfortable position..." Utos ko sa kaniya. "And Tell them don't even try to lay a hand on her."
There was silence on the other line. Then a nervous chuckle.
"Got it, boss."
The call ended, but the noise in my head didn't.
I stood up, the city lights of Manila burning through the glass walls of my office. My reflection stared back at me — cold, tired, and haunted. I told myself this wasn't personal. That this was just about business. About the debt her father owed.
But the truth?
It's never been about the money.
She has something I need.
Something that belongs to me — even if she doesn't know it yet.
I downed what was left of the whiskey and grabbed my coat. The night air was thick with rain as I stepped outside, every drop hitting the ground like a countdown. I couldn't stop thinking about her.
When I reached the house, the lights were dim. The air was colder. Marco met me at the door, nervous.
"She's inside, at the guest room."
I didn't answer. Just walked past him.
My steps echoed on the floor until I reached the small room at the end of the hall.
"Where am I?!" A loud scream echoed.
I paused for a second — something I never do. Then pushed the door open.
There she was. Sitting in a chair, wrists loosely tied, eyes fluttering between fear and exhaustion. Her hair was messy, cheeks streaked with dried tears, but she was still... breathtaking.
Cordelia Velasquez.
The woman who shouldn't have crossed paths with a man like me. I couldn't afford to look at her like that. Seeing her like that made me suffer. I tried to hide the soft in me and showed him what they really thought I am. She looked up, and for a second, our eyes met.
"W-where am I?" she whispered, voice trembling.
I took a slow breath, walking closer until I was standing right in front of her. Her brows furrowed in confusion, her lips parting slightly as if she wanted to scream. But then she looked at me again. And I swear—for a brief second—I saw something flicker in her eyes. Recognition. She realized that I am not DIEGO. Not my Twin.
