Friday, May 18, 2018 | 17:38 EDTLois has been avoiding me for the past week. And, quite frankly, it's gettin' real old. And I am not happy about it. Not one bit. Every single time since our very brief conversation in the Fortress about her family that I bring up to her meeting them, she always conveniently "remembers" something that she forgot needed to be done, or finds something else to occupy her time away from me so that she doesn't have to talk about the subject of her family with me. Every time I bring the issue up, it's always "Not now," and "Later," and "Maybe tomorrow."
Problem with that is, she forgets about my eidetic memory and thinks--no, hopes--that if she stays away from me long enough, that I'll get distracted enough to forget about wanting to meet her family.
And when I try to call her about it, she always skirts my calls with a text that says she'll talk to me later, or she can't talk at the moment.
But the way Ma and Pa Kent raised me, I need to ask Lois' daddy for her hand in marriage. That's it. If I went through with proposing to Lois without asking her father for her hand, I'd feel so guilty. Because that's just the way I was raised. Period. And Lois asked me to propose to her, but she won't even talk to me about me meeting her family. So I need to meet her side of the family before I can take any matrimonial action.
But to do that, I need to talk to her, which I can't do if I can't get a solid hold of her for more than two seconds! But, I know how to get ahold of her. She's had a fair amount of practice ignoring Clark Kent. But she will not ignore Superman. Because I need to get to the bottom of why she doesn't want me near her family.
I think I'll also bring this up at tonight's meeting.

Friday, May 18, 2018 | 20:22 EDTAt the end of the topics we've discussed, before we start doing this dance of working around scheduling for the next meet, I bring up my problem.
"So if that's all there is," says Victor, "we'll wrap this up and--"
I cut him off. "Wait, wait, wait. I know that we're supposed to be discussin' League business here, but I have a personal issue that I need counsel on. It's in regards to my relationship with Lois."
"Well, Kal-El," says Diana, "we're your friends. If you can't talk to anyone else, you should at least be able to talk to us. So tell us, Son of El: What is your issue?"
"Here's what my problem is: Okay, so, I've told her who I am, right? I've trusted her with my entire existential identity. So what am I doing wrong?"
"Elaborate, Kal," says Diana.
"Well, I've taken her to meet my parents, right? All four of them. So it's only fair that I do the same, right? And, I mean, what woman doesn't want their boyfriend to actually wanna meet their family, right? But I just had to be special and pick the different one, right? See, 'cause every time I even mention trying meet her family, she just turns tail and pretty much runs the other direction. I can't even call her about it without her dodging me and texting me back that she has something to do. And the way the Kents raised me, I can't even propose to Lois before I get her daddy's blessing. Yeah, guys, I'm old-fashioned, that way. And she is, too, apparently, seeing as how she asked Lara's blessing to marry me while we were at the Fortress. But I don't know what the big issue is. Why can't she just give me the same courtesy? Why doesn't she want me to meet her folks? I just don't get it."
"Well did you ask her?" inquires Barry.
"Yeah, I did! At the Fortress, Barry. She said, and I quote you: 'Tomorrow'. Because it would ruin our evening together if we talked about her folks then. And I was okay with that... until 'tomorrow' came and gone. 'Tomorrow' was Monday, guys. Monday. Today is freakin' Friday! I mean, if there's something she thinks might scare me away if I ever do meet her folks, shouldn't she prepare me for that, like, oh I don't know... now?!"
