DAY SIXTEEN

Today is the day we investigate the origin and examine the extent of Kara's new sunstone abilities. Because that new white suit she wore against the Witch Boy has got to be made from organic sunstone. So, to accomplish this examination, we're calling in a lot of big guns: Bruce, Diana, Hal and his newly recruited girlfriend, Carol Ferris (who is a Star Sapphire, otherwise known as a Purple Lantern), Arthur and Mera, Mikaela Vitalis and the power of Zodiac, Dr. Hoshi Eto, otherwise known as The Kunoichi, Mari McCabe, who also goes by Vixen, John Constantine, Zatanna, and Doctor Fate. And you may be wondering: Why the Lanterns? Good question. Answer: It takes a certain level of magic to be able to harness energy of any kind from sheer emotion.

And try as I might've to get her to stay home, Lois insisted on coming with me. She said, "This is one of the most important developments in Kryptonian history, besides the fact that Krypton isn't entirely extinct, and you want me to stay home? Doing what?! Eating snacks and watching Netflix, all day long? 'Cause there sure as hell isn't anything good on TV, anymore. Yeah, I don't think so. Let's hit it, farm boy."

So now, we're all here at the Fortress, and we are about to commence testing in the ATR.

"Are you ready, Kara?" asks Mom.

"Yeah, Aunt Lara," replies my cousin.

"Very well, then. What all can you do with the organic sunstone that comes out of your body?" queries Aunt Allura.

"Well, Mama," starts Kara, "I know that I can make crude shields and weapons out of the crystals, and that I can cover myself in armor made from the substance. Other than that, I don't really know."

"Well then," says Uncle Zor, "Let us see if we cannot refine your new abilities, shall we?"

"Alright," consents Kara.

17:20 EDT

Lois left at about 3:24, took Bridgette home from school and came back, and nearly all the magic-casters besides Doctor Fate and Zatanna are pretty much exhausted. And Kara is still full of energy and raring to go. Before we began the actual testing of the sunstone crystals in relation to Kara, we were trying to see if she could streamline her sunstone armor into an actual suit. Well, she did, and, let me just say: She looks good. She looks regal, almost like she was Krypton's ruler before the planet went kablooey.

And on the topic of streamlining, we also wanted to see if she could refine the shape of the objects she could create. In a few words: She did. Her shield went from being this large, flat, jagged mass to being a large, smooth, solid, four-inch-thick House of El crest with some slight curvature. Her weapons, she compacted from being the super-sized, splintery crystal shards that shatter upon impact to super-strong, razor-sharp crystal spires that actually go through even Doctor Fate's shields. We know. We actually found that out the hard way, when we had to pull a shard out the shoulder of Fate's host, Dr. Kent Nelson. Kara is also able to craft other things out of the crystal she produces, such as a sword, which we learned when she went toe-to-toe with Diana, who couldn't slice through Kara's blade with her own; a trident, which she used to go a couple of rounds with Arthur and Mera; and other various, rather... creative weapons to try me, Bruce, Hal, Carol, and the others. We also observed Kara make various tools, and they worked! It was really quite amazing... and quite painful.

And after quite a bit of digging into Kara's history on Krypton, we found out that when Kara was a kid, she had a little accident with a sunstone crystal in Kandor, and somehow, it grafted into her DNA, and it laid dormant until the fight with the Witch Boy.
