We had to move as swiftly and as silently as we possibly could, so as not to get caught by a member of the Syndicate, but we finally made it back to the super-secret bunker that Alternate Lex had stashed away for a period of desperation such as this.

However, when we get inside, we are greeted with weapons and powers aimed at us. Due to the colors of our uniforms, and what was likely a quick first glance, we're probably being mistaken for members of the Syndicate. And I don't blame them. I would, too, given that I were in their current situation.

"Stand down, people," says Alternate Lex, holding his hands up to signal for his remaining teammates to hold their fire. "These are the reinforcements I promised. They are their universe's version of us. The Justice League of America."

Alternate Lex's team hesitantly lowers their defensive postures, and some start crying.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"Watch for yourself," says Sammi Swift.

And as we look at the viewscreen, we see the horrific image of Ultraman ripping Doctor Fate completely apart, killing her instantly, feeding her remains to this universe's Gorilla Grodd, and crushing the Helmet of Fate, which also destroys Na'Bu inside. Ultraman just committed a double-homicide at once. And then he laughed! Like it was all some kind of joke!

Lois grunts and cringes in disgust, looks away and buries herself into my chest, and I hold her. Pat and Billy lose their lunch, and Ollie says, "Damn, that's f****d up..."

"That was live on the news," Venus says through her own tears, "just an hour and a half ago."

And I don't know why, but something compels me to ask, "What was her name, and how old was she?"

"Her name was Bridgette Olivieri," says Sinestro, "and she was only twenty-two years old."

At that moment, Lois says, "Oh my God...!" as she runs out crying, and pukes, and tears fall down my own face.

"I have to apologize for me and my wife," I explain through the tears. "On our Earth, we adopted that girl as our daughter. And I know that that wasn't our Bridgette, but just the mere thought of something happening to her, I just--I don't know what we'd do."

"I'll be damned," says Frost Queen. "You people really are nothing like the Syndicate."

"We have families and normal lives that we absolutely love, out of these uniforms," says Diana. "If anything were to happen to just one of the people we care for, we'd be devastated. Clark, I'll go get Lois."

"Thanks, Dia," I say.

When Diana and Lois come back, I say, wiping my own tears away and sniffling, "If we weren't convinced of your world's state of affairs, before, we certainly are, now. What can we do to help?"

"Well, for one thing," says a familiar female voice, "that Atomica is definitely gonna pose a problem. We need to take care of her, first."

"Ray?!" I exclaim, shocked, as she grows back to her normal height after jumping off of my left shoulder. "What are you doing, here?"

"Well," says Dr. Palmer, "aside from the fact that her ops moniker sounds like it was ripped off from a villain of an old movie serial from the fifties, which is a level of corny that's a crime in and of itself, I'm the only one out of all of you that's specifically and aptitudinally suited and capable to track down other beings capable of shrinking down to submolecular sizes, and then turn around and fight them, if need be."
