Lois and I are in the process of doing damage control, because a tabloid paparazzo caught me making love to Lois as Superman. Even though I was in the suit that Lois made for me, things are still looking extremely bad for us, so we're still in crisis mode, right now. Jon, Elli, and Aurora, too. People have been shooting Lois some really dirty looks lately, especially at church, and over my wife? I'm about to go upside someone's head, in a minute.

On a different note, a new costumed heroine by the name of Cerebellum, the mother of three of Jon and Elli's friends, known as the PowerPuff Girls, has joined the League after we accepted her membership application. Jon, Elli, and Aurora are working on building Jenny a new-and-improved android body, free from governmental control, because from what I was told, they promised her a new body if she joined up with them. She joined up. And after about four or five years of combat and crime-detection training with Bruce, Jimmy has just joined the Justice League as a costumed hero by the name of "Guardian", using armor and equipment we gave him from the Fortress, and he's been telling me that he's trying to figure out how to pop "The Question" to Kara.

As a matter of fact, I'm meeting him for coffee in a few minutes to help him figure that out.

When I get to the Starbucks joint, I survey the area with my enhanced vision, and I see Jimmy ordering something from a cute barista, and I just can't help myself from noticing how beautiful she is. But she's lingering longer than what's normal, almost too long, Jimmy looks to be taken with this girl, and if Kara saw this, she would definitely not be happy.

So I go into the café and say, "Hey, Jimbo. You feelin' okay?"

"I'm in love," is his only response, and he looks to be entranced by this girl.

Then I scan this girl, see a strange-looking bright purple signet ring on the girl's right middle finger, whose face is shaped like an eight-point star, and say, "And I'm unimpressed."

Next, I use my x-rays to uncover this girl's disguise: She's a beautiful, highly seductive humanoid alien from the planet Zamaron, the home of the Purple Lanterns, otherwise known as the Star Sapphires.

I turn to her and tell her, "Listen to me, Zamaron, I don't know who you are or what your business is, here, but I do know what you are, and I also know your people's reputation. Don't try to deny what you are or make this ugly. It'll just waste everyone's time and energy, and it'll just piss me off. He's spoken for. Release your hold on him and go seduce someone else. Otherwise, if his mate, who is, mind you, a Kryptonian, catches you in the absolutely brazen act of seducing her man, she'll try to rip you completely apart, and might actually succeed. And neither of us wants that for you. Bring him what he asked for, and then take the rest of the day off. It's not a request."

After she walks away, dejected, I then turn to Jimmy and snap my fingers in front of his face, saying, "Jimmy? Hey, Jimbo! Come on, snap out of it, buddy. Come on. That's right. Come back to reality."

As he wakes up out of his daze, I say, "There we go. That's it. Wake up, Jimbo."

Jimmy's dazed smile drops, he then blinks a couple of times, shakes his head, a little, and asks, confused, "Whoa, what a trip, man. What happened?"

"You were under the influence of a Star Sapphire's love spell," I calmly inform him.

"How did you snap me out of it? And who was the Star Sapphire?"

"That cute barista that was taking your order was the Star Sapphire. And I threatened to sic Kara on her if she didn't release her hold on you. And as it turns out, she likes breathing."
