-EDENS POV-
I stirred softly from my sleep, my brain still trying to catch up with everything

As I go to move I feel a strong hand tense around my waist, pulling me backwards

I groan slightly at the fast movement, and am shocked by a whisper to my ear

"You didn't think you could leave that fast could you?" I hear Calibans sleepy voice mutter to me

I flip myself around to look at him, faces close
"And why would I want to leave?" He chuckles, kissing my nose, then my cheek and finally my lips

He had a habit of doing this, I never truly understood why, maybe it was back from his fears of hurting me with Circe, or perhaps it was just his way of showing affection

And because it was his way, I've never loved being kissed like that more

We stayed in bed for a bit longer, against my protests of needing to get up, he had ignored me, and pulled me back towards him in every attempt

Until a call was heard

Lucifer

Me and caliban both looked to eachother, eyes wide as we finally got out of bed, worry overcoming me

Lucifer would know, he would know caliban was no longer with Sabrina, that he'd given the throne up for me, and left his daughter behind

If I wasn't dead before, I would be now

I slow pattered behind caliban, watching as he stood up straight, leaving towards the throne room, a room I hadn't seen in a while

I stayed behind a pillar, making sure I was hidden away from everyone, but still able to hear

"Morning my son, about time you showed up" caliban says nothing, and I assume he continues to walk because I hear Lucifer speak again

"Ah ah, aren't you going to introduce us to your friend?" I hear Lucifer emphasize the last word, my face paling as he says it and I let out a breath

"Come out, we won't bite, though I suppose you should already know that shouldn't you...

...Eden?"

I walk from behind the pillar, hearing the court gasp loudly, I looked through the members and a face caught my eye

I felt an overwhelming sense of de ja vu as I look over to Asmodeus, he had the same face he had made when I came to hell the first time, a mix of several questions evident, but the main one, the one he had since the beginning was obvious

How are you here?

I looked up at Lucifer, gulping as I walked towards him

"Hello again, angel

Looking a little different from than the last time, aren't we?" A wolffish grin settled on his face, he was enjoying this, enjoying making me admit that essentially

I had left everyone behind
I had ruined things for the Morningstar
And that I wasn't even meant to be here

"So tell me, what brings you here? Ruin the marriage I presume? I mean that's what you've done already and you've only been here a day" I heard more gasps around the court, seeing caliban look down and I furrowed my brow

"Don't worry, Lucifer, it won't be for long, not until your other daughter can get me back home

I assume you've heard of the eldritch terrors?"

I see lucifers face drop a little, surprised at my reaction, he knew what would come, and what has yet to come

I took his silence as an answer as I start to leave, catching a singular glimpse at Sabrina before leaving the throne room, it doesn't take me long until I hear footsteps follow me out

"What do you mean 'it won't be for long'?" I hear caliban speak to me, his tone was confrontational, he needed to hear an answer from me

I sigh as I look at him
"Caliban, I'm not staying, that's been obvious since the moment I arrived"

He furrows his brows, stepping closer to me "but why, Eden?"

"Because caliban, I'm not even meant to be here, I'm a manifestation of that stupid eldritch terror, no doubt after it's defeated I'm going back home and continuing my job

I'm an angel caliban, have you forgotten? Our duties are different"

He cocks his head at me slightly, his face evidently confused
"Your job?"

"Protecting Sabrina, which I can do from a distance, it's what I've been doing"

Caliban looks at me in disbelief, he stops whilst I continued walking creating a gap between us

"So why can't you do that here? With us? Like you did before?" I screwed my eyes shut as a headache formed

Finally I cracked

"Because! I have spent months trying to forget all of you, and move on because you were all only a job, so forgive me on deciding I can't cave in now, not when I've worked so hard to forget you!"

I breathed heavily at the end, gulping as I tried to regain my composure, I looked up at caliban and I noticed an unfamiliar expression on his face, something of a mixture of sad...
And angry

"Only a job?" He repeated my words from my outburst, and I can practically feel my face pale

"Caliban, that's not what I-" I'm cut off

"Was it your job to make me fall in love with you too? Maybe your false god thought if you could do that you could regain hell, forgive me for being so stupid in believing a creature like you could actually care for someone like me"

My brow furrowed and I scoffed "a creature like me? Forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't your own leader one of me, bastardized to a point of unrecognition? Who's the real creature here?"

The tension was thick, just a couple of hours ago we had been close, closer than what we ever had been before

And now we were at each others throats, I go to speak again but I feel something wrong in my chest, I look up at caliban once more

"Forgive me"
and with that I had left hell
