CHAPTER 49|MARRIAGE

"My what?"
I looked at him in shock, and he stared at me matter of factly
"Your coronation, pretty sure I said it clearly previously" I looked back at caliban, who raised his eyebrow at me, before looking back to Lucifer

"But Sabrina?-" Lucifer stands up straight, starting to pace back and forth
"I thought you'd mention that, but I had a thought you see" I folded my arms, waiting patiently for him to explain

"You, Eden, are a fallen angel, as was I, whilst Sabrina is my daughter
You are my equal" at this he quickly turned to me, grabbing my hands and shaking them

"Don't you see? It's some sort of prophecy, it's almost exact, we are siblings eden, both powerful and both gods favorite angels
If I created hell by myself, just imagine what you could do once you rule again, hell will be reborn" I looked at him strangely, he hadn't let go of my hands yet as I thought for a second, scoffing lightly

"Lucifer, brother, the court wouldn't allow it, I'm not royalty, I can't just take control of the throne especially if Sabrina is still the queen, and what to do if she comes back? It's out of the question" I go to walk away but instead Lucifer now grabs my shoulders, shaking me again
I think he's gone a little mad

"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it, and as for the royalty part
That's why you'll be marrying caliban"
I felt winded as he said that last sentence, I'd be-
Married to the love of my life
And I'd be a queen, this would be perfect
But more importantly-
it'd be funny to mess with them
"I'm too young to be married" I gulped hard trying not to smile

"You're quite literally 5,000 years old" Lucifer looks at me unimpressed
"I slept for most of that time"

I walked around slightly, not meeting calibans eyes

"And I'm in the body of a teenager! I'm not being taken as a child bride"

I booked at both of them as I folded my arms, they had gone quiet unsure of what to do, I finally met calibans eyes

And I laughed

A breath of relief fell out of caliban's mouth making me grin harder at him, walking up and encasing him in a hug quickly, before speaking again

"Only if caliban proposes to me,
Properly"
I stood my ground, staring at both of them

"Very well, Caliban, here's a ring now-" I watched as Lucifer handed him a ring and I stopped them once more

"No you simpleton, it has to be somewhere important; and something I don't expect, you can't just do it now" and with that I disappeared back to earth

-TIME SKIP-

I sighed as I looked towards the tv, tiredness plaguing me, Caliban sat as I was on top of his lap, kissing him lazily, not caring what anyone else had thought

I awkwardly tried to get up, until roz's phone rang

"Yep, That's my dad, I should really call it a night" and she finally departed from, both Theo and Robyn did the same, I tried to follow with a same but Caliban pulled me back again, I giggled and instead put my thumb up in recognition
And Sabrina and Nick finished last with a "ditto"

"Though we still haven't figured out what we're gonna do for your birthday, Sabrina" I looked to Sabrina as she tuts, not accepting it

"No! You guys seriously don't have to do anything
Seventeens nowhere near as important as 16"
I smiled at the normality of this conversation, of us as a group, right now we were safe, the biggest concern was that of a birthday

"We have to do something, I haven't been able to celebrate anything with you yet" I argued back as my excuse, she finally gives up

"Okay, okay. But lowkey, maybe we can all hang out at my house, watch some Dario Argentine movies, and hand out candy to trick or treaters?" She suggested, and I looked back to the group as they all seemed to nod in agreement

-TIME SKIP-

I giggled as me and Caliban walked back to pandemonium, running through the empty gardens as he attempted to chase me, and unfortunately for me
He succeeded

With ease he picked me up and spun me around, I let out a yelp at his unexpected victory, before laughing into him, smiled wide on both our faces
He let me back down as I pattered through, surveying the familiar scene
I looked down to the floor- and there it was
A lily, growing ever so strong through the cracks, I knelt down to it, picking it from the ground as Caliban followed and I placed it behind his ear, a grin formed on his face

"This feels familiar" he spoke softly, I got closer to him and sat on his lap, looking into his eyes

"Yeah, now it does" I softly readjust the lily again, as I whisper absentmindedly

"A gift for you" I mumbled, something childish, it was just a flower

Caliban looked down to my hand, grabbing it softly, tracing circles around it

Until I felt something cold slip onto my fourth finger, I looked down to see a ring- a small one, that looked older than time
But still so beautiful

"And a gift for you, if you would accept it?" He pulled my hand slowly to his lips as he kissed it, still making eye contact with me, he breathed slowly

"Marry me, Eden
I know this isn't what you expected, if I could I would bring all the stars down as fairy lights for you, every single planet could be new flowers in a bouquet for you
You'd need only ask and I would try, but for now I ask something of you
Will you marry me?"

I stayed silent for a second, letting the words process in my head

"Yes"
