CHAPTER 21|PROPOSAL

"What was he like?" Is all I hear caliban ask me, genuine sadness in his voice

"He was horrible" is all I can say before I stand up straight and clear my throat

"I loved him, I was too scared to let him go, and everything, every bad thing that's happened  is my fault" i look at him and see him frown

"It's not your fault"

I stay silent again before I rub my eyes and try to change the subject

"So what was your proposal?"

He looks at me and puts his hands near mine, too scared to touch in case I am harmed again

"Me and Sabrina could fight to find the last unholy regalia, or..."

He points to both of us "me and you, could align?"

I look at him in confusion "align?" I stand up and walk around the table to clear my head

"Get married?" I widen my eyes in surprise at his response

"Caliban... That won't work for so many reason" he follows after me

"Well why not?"

"Well let's see..." I began

"1, Sabrina wants to be queen not me" caliban cuts me off

"She could be your courtier"

I shake my head and continue "I'm an angel, imagine the treason of that? An angel, ruling hell"

He flashes back at it "yes but you're fallen, so it doesn't count"

"And finally, I have some sort of spell on me on angry pagans who worship the man I loved, I don't know what they'd do if they found out, the girl could smell it on me, that's why she did it in the first place"

He shrugs and looks at me "then we find a spell to get rid of it"

"Caliban, why not bring this up with Sabrina? It would make more sense, you're both fighting to rule hell so why not rule together?" He stays silent for a second

"Because..."

"Because..?" I urge him to answer

"I feel nothing for Sabrina like I do you"

My eyes widen as my heart beats out my chest nearly, before I can say anything I see Sabrina appear

"I have the spell- are you two ok?" I look away and nod

Caliban mutters something "we'll finish this after we save your friend, perhaps your heart would have softened to me by then"

Sabrina looks confused but shakes it off as we move

TIME SKIP~

As we make our way into Harvey's garage I fall to the sight of what I see

Roz?

I look at harvey and urge him to speak, he continues "s-she broke, I don't know what happened I- I left for 15 minutes"

I look up at caliban "does this mean she's-" he cuts me off "dead? No she just needs to be put together that's all, there's an epoxy I need, I'll prepare it and bring it back to you" I watch as he disappears in flames and I walk to Harvey

"Harvey... maybe go and lie down for a second, me and Sabrina will do this"

He looks at me and doesn't do anything, but he nods slightly and goes to sit down, me and Sabrina collecting roz's pieces to put her together

I take my jumper off, worried any smaller pieces would catch on it and from the heat that had gotten to me

"I hate this, I'm sick of putting all of them in danger"

I quickly reply to her "this isn't your fault sabrina, you're not the reason the pagans need a virgin sacrifice" she looks at me, unhappy I'm putting the blame on myself

It's not my fault

"So, what did caliban want with you?" Sabrina begins to make conversation and I cringe

"He um, he asked me to marry him" she stops piecing Roz together and I quickly continue

"I said no, because that means you'd have to forfeit, and I don't want to be queen and..." Sabrina cuts me off

"Do you like him?" I look at her

"Yes, but I don't want to be queen, I suggested you to should instead, maybe?" I fumble with my words again and she looks

As much as she wants to deny it? She wants to be queen

"Marry caliban? No" she laughs as we continue to put Roz back together

TIME SKIP~

We get her to the school and we lay her down, where her and Harvey had first kissed

"She won't be scarred, will she?" I ask caliban

He edges closer to be for comfort "she will not" and I hear the group sigh in relief

"Now what?"

"You say the spell, but make your offering, to Aphrodite or Eros or whatever"

"What am I offering?" I hear Harvey ask him

"Your love for Rosalind" we all stop and look at caliban in confusion

"Aphrodite is the goddess of love, she'll grant your wish but demands your hearts desire, Rosalind

Vow to forsake your truest love, then to complete the spell, kiss her, but if you ever betray your vow she'll return to stone and stay that way for the rest of her days"

I step up "there has to be another way, we can't do that"

Caliban only looks at me "there is none, love for life"

I stay silent as Harvey speaks "I'll do it" and I look at him in sorrow

I'm sorry

I nod as he goes through with the spell

But, nothing happens

"Caliban? What happened?"

"His offering was rejected, you must not truly love her"

In a flash I see Harvey grab caliban by his shirt and put him up to the lockers

"That's bullshit!"

Without even thinking I get inbetween Harvey and caliban so they can't hurt eachother more

"Why would i Lie? To any of you? Or Eden?"

I blush when I hear my name

"I should kick your ass" I hear as Harvey hits caliban

"Harvey! Stop, please!"

"Strike me again and I'll crush every bone in your mortal body"

I watch as Harvey is enraged and without thinking he grabs my arm to push me away

I scream in pain as I fall to the floor, a large burn surrounding my arm

that seems to do it though, as I see both Harvey and caliban look down at me and rush to my side

"Tell them what you told me"
