CHAPTER 38|TEARS

I had arrived at the academy, just in time to see a man, face similar to Sabrina Spellman, swinging a dagger at her

I pinch my fingers together, and with that he had stopped, Sabrina looks at me and I make eye contact with her

"Leave, now" my voice was stern as I watch her leave the room, at the same time I see Zelda come into the room, and I look at her

"Take care of him, I'll speak to Sabrina" she nods to me as I put my hand down, bolting out the room to find Sabrina

-TIME SKIP-

I end up finding Sabrina in an unused classroom, I tread slowly in, seeing Sabrina rocking herself slightly

"Zeldas settling him, hello sabrina" I speak gently as she looks to me, I sit by her, wrapping my arms around her as she settles into me, tears dropping off her face slowly

"Eden, it was awful" she cries more and I hold her tighter, I stroke her gently letting her know I was here

"I know, a daughter should never have to go through that" i knew I had recognized the man before, Edward Spellman, but the times I had met him he never seemed so... erratic

I pulled away from her, making her face me, as I look at her in the eyes

"What you need to remember, is that it isn't him, that's an eldritch terror, and I promise you, that's not how he thinks" she looks at me shaking her head, crying once more

"But that's what he's thought before, they're manifestations Eden, he hated me" I hush her slightly, now it was my turn to shake my head

"Sabrina no, that's not true" I sigh, I wouldn't be able to get through to her without telling the truth

"Sabrina I've met him"
This seems to get sabrinas attention, she sniffles as she looks at me, face confused

"What?"

I sigh as I close my eyes
"I've met him before, and your mother, it was a while ago and admittedly only for a short time,

But I've met them, I didn't realize it was your father I will be honest" she stays silent, urging me to continue

"When I met them, they were so emotional, confused and angry obviously, but I could see strongest of all

That they were worried, but not for themselves" I look at her, smiling softly

"They were worried, because they had left their darling daughter alone, the daughter they had loved despite the things they had to go through to get her"
Sabrina smiles slightly, a tear dropping down her face

"Sabrina I promise you, that that's not what he truly thinks, that man in there is just... a little confused" I hug her tightly, hoping now the message had got through

I walk away from Sabrina, giving her time to herself, and I find my way through the academy, mostly familiarizing myself again

It has been a while that I had roamed these halls, and whilst I wasn't overly fond of the place, I missed the feeling it brought, of a routine of being normal, I suppose, being here meant that it was just a normal day with Sabrina, attending her classes, being a student and learning

I missed it

I go to walk through a door, until I hear something
It was slight, so quiet that a normal person wouldn't have heard it, but I did
A child crying?

I walked around until I heard the sound get louder, I found my way to a door, well hidden from the rest of the academy

I go to walk In as I hear a familiar voice

"Do you hear that? The sound of a baby crying?"
Lilith?

As I walk through the door it is only until then do I hear a second voice
"I hear nothing of the sort"

Caliban

I try to turn to leave, but am already evidently spotted by both the inhabitants of this room, I sigh as I look at them, stepping forward

Caliban looks at me, before speaking to Lilith again "I'm sorry Lucifer condemned you to a living death, I would have loved to have killed you myself"

"I wish he had killed me" I hear Lilith speak, finally this does it for me, I fold my arms as I look at Caliban, stepping inbetween him and Lilith

"Can you have compassion for two minutes?" I hiss at him, before turning back to Lilith

I speak aloud my thoughts as I look at her "she can hear a cherub, a dead baby that only grieving mothers can hear

Think of it as a human created guardian angel" I continue on, looking at Lilith in more detail, she had gone positively mad

"They turn into angels when they die, and that's why I can hear it and you can't, and why I also came in here" I sigh as I finally turn to caliban, I speak softly

"She's a grieving mother, can't you leave her alone?" I look up at caliban, resting my face as I make eye contact with him, he softens his eyes, looking intently at me, evident in that moment we had forgotten of our last talk with eachother

I stay in silence again, until I feel Lilith grab my shoulder, I look at her in confusion
"What's wrong my lady?" I speak softly at her, slowly taking away the caliban doll she made, that she had so evidently held on tight to

"I want to end it, Eden, presently and permanently, but I need your help...
to do it"

I part my mouth as I look at her, tears brimming my eyes as I look at her

"Lilith I-
I cant"

my voice cracks, My breathing becomes heavier as she looks at me expectantly, how in heaven could she expect that from me?

I go to speak again but I feel a hand make contact with my waist, stroking it softly

Weirdly enough, it makes me feel calm, and I look up to caliban, unexpectedly the words come out of his mouth

"I'll do it"
