CHAPTER 56|BLACKWOOD

"And she was wearing it when she went to face the void" I smiled at him knowingly, of course

It was time for our plan

-TIME SKIP-
It had been two weeks
Two weeks of tracking Sabrina, our plan, all of it
For two weeks
I had no powers, but for the time being the sisters had granted some of their powers- siphoning the energy once more

We all stood with robes covering our faces as we walked towards the man known as faustus Blackwood

"Faithful travelers, are you arrived to kneel at the temple of the void?" He asked us
What a prick, honestly

We stayed silent as he continued his ramblings, only walking further towards him, finally stopping and uncovering all our faces
Prudence, roz, Ambrose, me and Agatha

He turned back around, now defensive
"How did you find this place?" A sadistic smile on his face, in perfect timing, Salem meowed

"Her familiar, of course, how good of you all to travel so far
The void will devour you without question" he taunted at us all

"Brother Ambrose, your wand, I'm afraid, will not work here- this is a holy place" we all looked at eachother, as he took out his wand
He failed to use it

"Where is Sabrina, father?" Prudence asked him, he seemed a bit mad if I had to be honest

"All questions shall be answered" he chuckled

"The bride of the Void will receive you presently" I pulled a face to the group
The, bride? Of the void?

"It's nearly dinner time, you see, and the void must be fed" he walked back slowly, ushering us to go inside
Guess we didn't have much of a choice, we all stepped inside

It was dark, candles barely lit the cavern we had just entered

"What sinister pit have you created for yourself, Blackwood?" Ambrose questioned him, but no answer

"Come, come closer
Sit" he directed towards all of us, we had no choice but to obey as we all looked at the mounds of candles

"Bear witness, as the priestess of nothingness emerges for her daily feeding"
I looked at everyone unsettled, I did not like this one bit

And there she emerged, out from the darkness
A blank expression on her face, using crutches to walk
Sabrina

"Oh my god" I whispered as we all stood up

"Gods and monsters, cousin, is that you?" He ran towards her, prudence trying to stop him
I too went after her

"What have you done to her?" I screamed at Blackwood, I could hardly believe my eyes
The once charming, funny and smart Sabrina
Reduced to... a shell

"Exalted her- she is the face of the final shadow" he spoke prophetically once more, I could hardly process
In just 2 weeks?

"She is the clock keeper of doom- she is our lady astrolabe, the star wormwood"
With each more of his ramblings, the clack of her crutches continued towards us, until she was directly side by side of him, holding his hand

"Sabrina are you hurt?!" Roz asked protectively, but no answer, roz looked towards Blackwood furious, as did everyone else

"Why isn't she speaking?"

"She's taken a vow of silence, all in service of withholding the void
Controlling it" Blackwood explained, each word coming out of his mouth made less and less sense, making me spiral more and more

"Praise her for each minute she allows you to live in this world" he demanded, none of us complied

"Father, stop babbling and make sense" prudence spoke up

"Sabrina holds within her a piece of the void, it's like an eternal roiling ocean of hunger" we all stayed silent as he continued his strange speech

"Only Sabrina stands between it and our reality now,
She must not move. She must not waver, lest the cracks tear her apart and release the deluge of the Void upon us" he chuckled darkly, I looked to Sabrina
She looked so fragile, and empty

"Now sit or not... but the void must be fed" he whispered as he finally walked away, she stared blankly at the wall

Ambrose walked to the side slightly, I kept my eye on Sabrina, I couldn't leave her again

"What is it you're doing?
You claim to worship the void, and you've been working on behalf of the eldritch terrors since Scotland, and now you've built some sort of temple
To what ends?
You don't care about Sabrina" Ambrose started to shout, and me, prudence, Agatha and roz all linked fingers
The plan was in action

"And that... that telescope outside, what's that for?" Ambrose continued to distract Blackwood, but only received a hush

It was prudences time to shine, she placed her fingers out towards Blackwood, with a loud gasp, and a smile

"He's looking for the rest of the void, it's trapped...
In space
He plans to bring it..." it felt like her voice echoed out in the cave

"...down to earth" roz took over the speech
"To bring it together with..."

Agatha now took over "...the void within Sabrina, to break her down and to"

"...Rip it out of her, consume it, wielding its power for himself" I finished, now seeing his plan with a loud gasp, I looked towards Sabrina in panic

"Sabrina, it's all a lie" I begged for her to see the truth, and then I looked towards the table we were sitting at

"This isn't a table" roz caught on
"It's a sacrificial altar" she spoke out in a panic, i bit my lip as I looked towards Sabrina again

"He's gonna kill you, sabrina" she looked up to me now, the first time she's made eye contact
Still saying nothing

"Like heaven he will!" Ambrose interrupts, he looked towards Sabrina

"We're leaving and taking Sabrina. You don't know what's happening
Come" Ambrose begged, and at last
She spoke

"I know exactly what's happening, and I'm not going anywhere" I widened my mouth in awe at her response, now looking between all four of us at the table

"But you should all leave
Before something bad happens"
